So today I took my deposit in on a nifty two-bedroom apartment that I've managed to pick up for a tidy $526 a month. It's in a tiny little complex that seems to be really well run, and it's in a decent part of town and all that. Oh, and uniquely among 2BR apartments I've seen, it has one and a half baths, which is cool, but a bit weird.
Anyway, I sign on the lease Friday. I nearly got a one-bedroom, but it was a paltry amount more to move up a bedroom and half a bath and open up the option of a roomate. The rents were close enough together that I can sit on this alone for six months, and the first month my roomate splits the rent with me will make up the ENTIRE six-month cost difference between the one- and two-bedroom units. Either way, I figured the slightly greater expense was worth it. Trying to share a one-bedroom would suck, even if it DID have the Bathroom of the Gods (which their one-bedroom units do, and thanks to
mongologue for coining the term).
So I'll be living about fifteen minutes from work now, and have a REAL kitchen, and REAL cabinet space, and be able to REALly pull things out of their storage in South Dakota and start living like a REAL human being again (with REAL privacy!). I'm so excited.
