Glorious rain. It started last night and continued all day. Seems to have stopped now so the kids' hope of snow this time may be dashed. The mountains have been socked in so we can't tell if they had snow and if they did how far down towards us it came. AFAIK this desert storm came out of the blue. Of course, there's always the downsides...
We learned where all the leaks in our roof are (not our apt - the company). There were 463 accidents in LA county today, up from 68 usually. Both those numbers are perilously high, though...

Up here the rain hasn't been so warm, though. Last night it was turning to sleet, the kids were getting excited about snow..and then it stopped. I was at the museum today and on the way back up here, it was drizzling in the pass. That was nice. No rain here right now.
That sucks that your roof is leaking, but better the company than the apartment?
There are an awful lot of people who freak out in the rain in LA. Those of us from rainier parts of the country/world maybe don't so much...And there's the whole thing about dry season/rainy season climates where the roads become incredibly slick during the first rains with all the accumulated oil and road-crap getting wet and causing spin-outs. Considering we didn't have rain in the southern part of the state last winter, there must be a load of slippery stuff on the freeways and streets. Out here, we just have people thinking 4WDs can do anything and getting themselves mired in deep mud and adobe!
