Florida... (SIGH). When will people learn.

This place is so bigoted that it's scary. If you're not White Conservative Christian and HEALTHY, you're filth and something that must be eliminated. Of course, it's also all your fault ( Read more... )

OH... I should add that before I shut the doors of my little business (which I started because of my health problems so I could work at my own pace), I kept hearing from all of the Republicans (including politicians I talked with) that "If you find you can't work any more, there is a safety net in this country that is meant to catch those who can't work through no fault of their own". THE SAME GODDAMNED BASTARDS APPLAUDED WHEN WE FELL THROUGH EVERY HOLE THEY'D PUNCHED IN THAT SAFETY NET!

Whoa - That's one of the most conservatively biased newspapers I've seen in a long time. And that includes the wretched little conservative rag they put out in my neck of the woods.

Our congressman is fighting the ACA too.

The ACA is going to save us so much money every month. We might actually begin to relax a little and maybe put a bit away for a vacation or something.

Yeah... and the funny thing is that it's considered one of the most liberal papers in the area.

The ACA actually gives us hope that Sue will get insurance, and that maybe some of her (NOT HER FAULT) medical problems will be dealt with. The Republicans around her blame her because she's severely obese (medical and with bad knees and hips - no exercise) and want her punished for "Her Sins!" (I've heard "Gluttony" directed her way - same towards me because I'm overweight even though I've lost over 150 pounds since diagnosis and medications.)

Anyway,

You should hear people rant about the "LIBRUL MEDIA!" around here, especially against the Ledger. When I've told people that it only takes a little research to demonstrate that the news media, with the exception of maybe NPR and PBS, are actually very biased towards a conservative and racist viewpoint, they insist I'm crazy.

The problem is, IT'S TRUE. My own research backed up all of the other research demonstrating that fact.

(Laugh!) Pretty neat cartoon. However, I'd say that I'd use "False Bitterness" because they don't have a clue to what real bitterness really is - it comes from years of injustice (and some really horrific things like burying poisoned kitties that we dearly loved, and trying to recover from torched workshops, and attempts to COERCE us into the dominionist churches) - and then having our cries for help and justice met with silence at best, or accusations of "You brought it on yourself by your SINS!" or "You're making it all up, the Churches aren't THAT BAD!" (said with proof of the real situation staring them in the face).

Oh, and I should add when trying to talk to lawyers: "There isn't enough profit in it for us!" if not having being hung up on.

I laugh at their "Bitterness". They don't have a clue to what it is really like.

since I lived in SC for 11 years, I feel able to say the KKK is still plenty popular, they just haven't killed anyone lately.
