Quick story that jij helped me shape up after a lot of thinking about Earth 51. Thanks to Dan and Jen for the beta! *prods wombat for coda*

And Bruce casting himself as the last monster is the kind of touch that reminds me that beauty can be terrible and harsh.

I'm sorry for stealing ideas from your brain, Dan, but I think we make a good Team Death!

Bruce as a monster makes me oddly happy, somehow. He does get the cast a bit n Earth 1, but in Earth 51 he really goes that last mile, and being able to find reason in his actions even if it doesn't really make them right... I dunno, I like that. The hard choices!

Thank you so much for writing the Coda! Will go fb that right now, as it made me cry like a baby, and is just perfection.

Aww, thank you! I'm so glad you liked! *hugs Bruce too* He was very amendable here, but he was really breaking my heart, thinking he didn't have a chance for redemption either...

And Dick and Clark are going to be pissed, but I know they understand, in some ways. *pets them* Dan fixed that, at least!

Oh, Bruce!! This was so heartbreaking, so bittersweet. I love the portrait of Bruce you've painted here - willing to go that final step to making his world a better place, to pave the way for (in his mind) real heroes. *hugs him*

Bruce's actions to pave the world for real heroes, to make the world safer for them, really broke my heart too.. and I like that as an explanation of what happened to Earth 51 heroes better than to think he killed them. It just doesn't make much sense in the long run...

Thank you, Brady! I'm really glad you liked this. This world's Bruce is just... a little too stretched. He could have used a break, I suppose, but you know Gotham.

Dick and Clark are probably going to be really pissed, but Dan has written the coda, and it's perfect! I'm pretty sure they will understand, even if Bruce thought they wouldn't. He just doesn't think he has any chance of redemption... but I suspect the boys think different.

Thank you! I'm glad you liked it, even if it's.. kind of really sad. But Bruce cross a line that shouldn't have been crossed, and after that... there was no turning back. *pets him* At least the world still has it's heroes...
