(FIC) Eye of the Storm, (Phantom Stranger+Etrigan, Superman/Batman) PG

Today is the Day of the Dead in Mexico, when we honor those departed. Thus, I have the day off school, even if it's not that big of a celebration in my area. I still like this day a lot, and I hope I'll have a chance to visit the graveyard this weekend. I'll write another story to cover my death-fic tradition with damo_in_japan, but I wanted to weave the theme

Wee! Thank you! I'm glad my Stranger voice worked, I was very nervous about that... I wanted to put lots of little scenes I had in my head together, and I was afraid it would end to be rather clunky.

The Dark Knight falls as he finishes rounding up his contingent, madmen and heroes alike, the Children of Gotham.

Eeeep! *glomps Bruce* I love that bit, the words you use.

The Knight falls, a second stolen from the battle as the Champion of Light holds his other half’s battered body. The Storm’s roar is great, but Superman’s battle cry is even louder.

Oh, poor Clark...

Etrigan runs his fingers through the black cape he has retrieved, blood stains wet in the dark material.

Etrigan!!!

:3 Wee! I'm glad you liked this, Star! Killing the JSA was hard, but I could see them in the first lines, facing the Storm head on. They are too badass to die second!

Poor, poor Clark was really unhappy about this whole deal. I wouldn't let anyone wallow, and he was really unhappy about Bruce dying.. so he kicked some creatures from beyond ass!

You got the day off school for the Day of the Dead? How come I never got the day off when I was in school in Mexico!? Anyways Happy Day of the dead.

And your fic OMG, you're so good with angst and I think you just managed to depress me for the rest of the day... And Etrigan I gained love for Etrigan after reading some Hitman comics, I like how you write him and that's saying something since I don't usually like how people write him sometimes.

I did, we got a long weekend out of it. We usually do, too, you never did? ..I think I've always had! But it was nice and horrible at the same time, since long weekend=extra homework. But. Whatcha gonna do.

I'm very glad you liked the story! I enjoy writing angst from time to time, so I'm happy it works :) and Etrigan.. Etrigan is very hard to write! with the rhyming and all. dien has the bestest Jason Blood and Etrigan stories out there. If you like Ettie, totally check them out.

Only you could make me get weepy for a character I've never heard of, who was apparently not nice at all, whose only greatness is that he's the first to die. But you manage it!

Ah, the image of the heroes and the rogues fighting side by side is just so awesome and epic (Filly's term is just perfect here, it's so huge and sprawling and gorgeous!) I mean, I couldn't pick out all the lines I loved or I'd be here all day, but:

The Knights of Gotham, the Archers of Star City; their Nightmares and Rogues by their sides.Has such a beautiful cadence and rhythm to it, it's so perfect and monumental

Lol, well.. Johnny Sorrow is not someone who commands love, but you know. He was very keen on being the first to die, for some reason. It just got stuck in my head!

Rogues and heroes fighting side by side, I looove that! I'm so glad it worked for this story, I got to write a couple of my single scene-bunnies that wanted to be written since forever :)

I wanted to describe their battle armors, because I'm sure they rocked, but I couldn't even figure out what kind of thing Stranger would wear... and Etrigan's battle armor is the stupidest looking thing ever, lol. Better to leave it to the imagination!

I'm very happy that this story worked! I wanted to cram lots of things in it and I was afraid it would seem clunky -especially because Stranger's POV was scary and weird! But yay!
