I take umbrage at your calling this canon for the deluded, Mina- *we're* the sane ones. DC is on five kinds of crack, if they think half the shit they dump on poor Bruce is a good idea.

Also, after reading the comments, I had the hilarious mental image of all the sane!Bruces (yours (comic), Jen's (movie), and T's (DCAU)) Just hanging arund and chilling out in the Batcave. Would that I had the art skills to draw it...

Lol, I'm glad it inspired you :) That Bruce and Dick pic did beg for manip :P Though, I don't know what's going on with Dicks' legs on those scans, he looks like a leperchaunt! so tiny!

Thank you for this post. This is exactly how I see Bruce Wayne/Batman. I see him as a somewhat emo guy, but he's got a good heart. Basically everything you said is exactly how I see him.

While he screws up a lot when it comes to relationships, he still tries. He loves his family.

I see him as having a sense of humor. A very dry one at times, but he does makes jokes from time to time.

I love the line from Hush, "If detective work was easy, everyone would be doing it."

Nightwing: "Was that a joke? Now I am worried about you."

It's a wonderful moment between the two of them. And I think that's how their relationship is. It's strained at times, just like every father/son relationship, but in the end, they love and respect each other. Even if they can't always say it.

I agree with you with all my heart. Bruce is not some.. some... I don't know. Some Miller-warped emotional terrorist. He's simply emo and reserved, but he really does care. I'm glad you liked the post, sharing the love for sane Bruce makes me really happy. Canon sometimes works against us, but sane Bruce is out there!

I love Bruce and Dick banter. I knew I wasn't alone in that!
