Aww, Brucie! So dark and disturbed and so close to just losing it completely. Thank God for Clark! Where would Bruce be without Clark bringing him back from losing himself?

It's nice to see Bruce take a moment here to use Clark's strength to relax his own, using Clark's shoulder. I like seeing him know that he take a moment to breathe and Gotham isn't going to crumble. Even if he doesn't have faith in the city's inhabitants, he still loves the city itself.

Poor boys. But a lovely look into their lives and why they need each other.

Jaded!Batman is.. a scary thought for me! compassion is sort of his superpower, I think, given how Gotham can be... Gotham.

I love the idea of Bruce leaning on Clark's strength, even if just for a moment. If Bruce ever gets a chance to talk with Gotham in a way that she can answer, it's going to be a long conversation. We can't be hurt by the things we don't care about! Mr. Intensity there has a hard battle when putting some distance between himself and the city...

Oh, wow. You've captured a really beautiful dynamic between the two here. I love how Clark's fighting to save Bruce from himself.

Bruce has a singular passion for his city, and that could consume him, I think.. Gotham -at least in my head- tends to keep the balance between the really shitty and the inspiring, but I think some nights it must be hard not to wonder 'why bother?'. Of course, Clark is having none of that! I'm glad you liked it, thanks for reading Kate!

Bruce sometimes wants to kick Gotham into behaving but it nearly never works! that's why Clark is there, to pat him when things just... get crummy. I'm sure they take turns doing that, though, giving each other strength and hope when the other is feeling low... that's why they are so adorable together :3

The poor boys, Bruce being so hurt, and Clark doing everything he can to stop him from slipping away... Bruce's 'I want to go home'... *wibbles*

Bruce wants to just go home and forget that the world can be crummy, sometimes. Not that he gets a lot of forgetting done, but I think it's... a pretty demanding job, what they do, and I like how they can give each other strength and hope when the other is feeling low.
