ShuffleFic Challenge A

May 29, 2009 21:17

I'm just a bit of a music junkie, and recently I was staring at my iPod's 22,813 songs and thinking (typically) "How can I use this for fic-writing purposes?"

Well, I saw a recent Spring challenge at cap_ironman and thought I might try something similar here. We've got so many amazingly talented writers and artists who probably don't need extra inspiration, but if you're looking for something, maybe this will give you a little nudge!

ShuffleFic Challenge

1. Six prompts will be posted based on a shuffle of the iPod. Prompts are of the title only, not the song, and you don't need to use the exact phrase in the story. Just see where it takes you.
2. You can write as many or as few as you like of them, and different stories for the same prompt are encouraged (it's fun to see different takes!)
3. The catch? Stories have to be under 400 words. That's right, we're aiming for nibbles here, not full-course meals. A scene, a contemplation, an impression, a short dialogue, and plot is optional!
4. Post or crosspost stories to worlds_finest and tag them for the challenge!
5. Have fun! Angst, fluff, PWP, friendship fic--you've got 400 words to play around in.
