I am reading 'House of Leaves'. It is so incredibly frustrating, I want to smash the book around, lol. vigilante_wake kindly gave it to me as a present, and I am actually enjoying the story a lot, but urgg arggg I also want to punch the book in the mouth for being so smug!!! 'See Appendix IV' *goes to see Appendix IV, 500 pages away from where she's reading* '

LOL, you are so not an annoying friend! You're an awesome, interesting, fun friend! you are the Kitten to my Ferret! :P Lol, the book does remind me of one of the boys, though. My friend Oscar? oh man he is so this book. I love him dearly and sometimes I wish I could hang out with him all the time, and then sometimes it's punch in the mouth time.

Are we on Chapter 5 on Graveyard Book? I'm still in chapter 4, but I guess you read a bit over the weekend? I'll try to catch up! And I hope the first day of school goes well :)

I finished Chapter 4 but will hold off on Chap. 5 for a bit!

The first day of classes went okay--the classes were fine! However, we had a student freak out in the hallway, screaming at the top of his lungs for about an hour and pounding on the wall hard enough to rattle the magnets off Dan's door. It was really frightening! My nerves were totally shot...it was kind of a relief to finally get to classes... @_@

I'm sorry you had such a stressful situation to deal with! meeep! poor student, what happened to him? Too much anxiety? I'm gonna guess that kind of breakdown is not.. something common, is it? Poor guy :( Hope he's doing better...

house of leaves is so crazy. i tried to read it and got about halfway through. my best friend has read it, like, 6 times now.

it's really cool if you go through it while listening to Poe's album "Haunted" - it's based on House of Leaves :) There are a *ton* of references to it throughout the CD, as well as a re-hashing of one of her songs at the end of the album with passages from the book read by her brother in place of the verses of the song.

Good luck finishing it!

I did manage to finish House of leaves! I'm glad I did, because I did like the story, but it was such an annoying book, lol. I didn't listen to Poe while I was reading it, mostly because I'm stupid because I saw recs of it around a lot... I gotta check it out, though! I have been having random panic attacks related to the books, despite not finding it very scary as I read it. Very odd...
