Long Live the Bat

Nov 30, 2008 13:07

So, today's the last day of November, which means today is the last day of NaBloPoMo for me. I hope everyone who tackled NaNoWriMo is doing well and will finish their goal! Me, I'm glad I'm done with this! Expect me going back to my regular semi-absent posting status! Thanks for everyone to put up with my crazy rambling and nonsense. There was ( Read more... )

I hope they won't get lost in the mail! The Mexican mail post got overhauled during this year, and it wasn't very reliable before, so I'm hoping it got better.

I loved your post about Batman 681. If Bruce was to face the Devil and look him in the eye, I don't think he would be the first one to blink. After all, I think Bruce has met with more Demons than the Devil has met with Bruces.

Also! Marcelo! The latest Qwantz, yes? The Midas one? It made me think of you. Lol, just.. thought I would let you know! :P

You know, up till now I never liked Batman RIP because they were killing off Bruce (and because I couldn't understood what was going on). But now that you're cheering for Morrison and DC for killing him off in order to give him a break, well... now I welcome it. Poor Bruce DOES need a break after all that's been going on lately and I do hope DC remains careful and respectful in letting the poor, tired soul rest in peace. I just hope we'll have our favorite Batman back safe and sound when DC does decide to bring him back. Hopefully soon.

I still miss J'onn though. :(

I have great trust in Morrison, so I was waiting for RIP to end to see if he would tie all the loose ends or not -from what I've seen, he did a good job at that. I also have great affection for character death in fic, and to respectful character death in comics. In some cases it's just stupid and useless, but in other cases it's something that the character needs to go through to gather it together. I think Batman really needs a pause so that all that's happened lately can percolate and he can return a stronger, more integrated character, and so that the bat-books editorial can get itself together. I think it's stupid that if you have a very big event going on in one book, none of the others is reflecting it. I know that can be a huge hassle with the gazillion tie ins, but, c'mon. Batman has been lost for months and going crazy and dies and in the other titles he's leading the Outsiders or hanging out with Zatanna? Some organization seems to be in order for the bat-books. Either take one of the books out of continuity or coordinate. ( ... )

I liked that when Batman was with Damian in his own book, in Detective he was fighting crime and solving little mysteries as if Damian never existed. I wasn't enjoying what Morrison was doing at all at the time, and I liked that it seemed that Batman was unaware of Damian in Detective, Robin, Nightwing, and Outsiders. I could easily enjoy those stories at any time without listening to Bruce or the other characters about what was going on in Bruce's own title ( ... )

Batman's not dead (yet) he's supposedly MIA and then he's back for Final Crisis which is where we will see if he's going to die or not (or at least according to Morrison).

But man I envy comic characters, sometimes I wish I could just die too for like a year or so and then come back and be all refreshed.

I thought Bruce disappeared in an explosion? Though, I guess that's more MIA than dead. In any case, how long can you retire Bruce, anyway?

I join you in the wish to die for a year or so and then come back in super crazy circumstances all refreshed and ready to rumble. Weekends are not enough...

LOL, I think you're the first person I've seen who's like, "YAY BATMAN'S DEAD!"

But yeah, I get you, grrrrl. Batman needs a break!

LOL, I tend to really enjoy (respectful and meaningful) character death! Besides, how long can he spend dead, anyway?

I think a break will be a good thing, hopefully the bat-editorial will get itself together and Batman won't be hanging out with Zatanna in one book and crazy and MIA in another when he comes back. Besides, he's been through a lot of insanity in the past years, and he didn't really get himself together -and the writers didn't get themselves together- during his year away.. so. Yeah. I hope he enjoys his hiatus :)

Oooooh!!! I shall be sitting by the letterbox waiting for it to arrive! :p

I'm kinda glad Batman's dead, I have to admit. I'm also confused, and kinda ignoring it at the same time. But I'm looking forward to the next few issues that are going to be focusing on the effect of Batman's death, since I love that almost as much I love the death itself. Hee. And if it all goes horribly wrong, we can just pretend he's on holiday with Clark off world, can't we? :p

I remember when I had braces and THEY HURT SO MUCH, WHY???????????? Stupid things. *big hugs* I hope they stop hurting soon, Mina. Because they're just no fun at all. :( *hugs again*

I hope it gets to you soon! Let me know.. when it does. If it ever does.. *is wary of the post*

I am actually pretty happy that Batman's dead. Maybe Bruce isn't, but it feels like Batman might be, for a while. I think Bruce deserved a death story -everyone has one, after all! and he suffers so prettily.. and like you, I'm waiting to see the reactions, hohoho. I have the theory that Bruce has been in Darkseid's hands for quite a while now, and the one that went crazy was actually Tommy Wayne from Earth 2, brainwashed into thinking he's Bruce. 'Cause. I like Tommy.

I am still hating my bracers :/ they are painful...

Ooooh! That would be really fascinating to see. And very plausible too, from what I've seen of Batman: RIP. Would that be a bit like the AU future shown in JLA: Rock of Ages? I love that so much. Everyone is just so utterly awesome in it. *hearts them like crazy*

*big huuuuuugs* Stupid braces!!! :( *huuuuugs again*
