I know I promised you guys a longer post. I have some coming, I swear.

For now, though, know this:

It is really hard to write a paper about the role of non-human characters in science fiction when your every decent train of thought is getting derailed by the Disney music playing in a loop in your brain.

...The two really aren't at all

the woes of an art student, halp, writing, failboat, !college, anwe's obsessions

Lets switch papers. I'm writing mine on human trafficking and modern day slavery. Not that Disney would help me either, but your paper sounds much more interesting/uplifting and less soulsucking and depressing.

Yeah, that does not sound like a happy paper topic. What class is that for? (Mine is, believe it or not, for an art history class on German films between the wars.)

I finally gave in and just listened to the music as I wrote. Aside from a few accidental inclusions of "Tale as old as time" and "Caaaaan you feeeeel the looooove tonight" I made it through okay. XD;;

Still working on mine- It's for Politics of Western Europe. Got distracted by NCIS episodes I haven't seen. Maybe I should put on my own Disney soundtracks.

Oooh which episodes of NCIS? I completely forgot to check and see if it was even on this week. Nothing else was.

Try it! It's always entertaining to see what happens when music is involved.

I'm about to write a paper about the travesty that is Colorado History with Native Americans...

...And I totally just saw Tangled and am all bouncing off the walls happy! This paper is not going to happen...nope.

Oooh, ouch. That's depressing. What's the paper for?

I KNOW. That's still pretty much where I am right now. OMG TANGLED. PAPER? WHAT PAPER? Oh, you mean the paper I've been all excited about writing up until this point. Uhm. Well. Sigh.

OTOH, I've promised myself that if I am a good girl and get lots of stuff done this week I can go see Tangled again next weekend. :D

It's a paper where I have to pretend to be a consultant to help out Colorado tourism. I chose to focus on Native American culture. It's supposed to be genuinely positive, but the prof. wants a look into CO's not-so-nice history in order to better develop my argument. Woohoo.

Haha, that is a very good promise to make. I unfortunately have 2 other papers to work on next weekend...maybe around Christmas I'll see it again :).

And I totally heart Pascal ;)

Oooh. That could be hard to write. Good luck?

I have just the one, and if I'm good and get it done this week (and just leave proofing and finishing touches for the weekend) and get all of my art stuff lined up and taken care of I can spare the time. Otherwise...what's another weekend?

Me too! I think he might have been my favorite character.

*waves hello to new friend* and also :( on the paper. I suggest you solve the problem by blasting Star Wars!

*waves back*

I did! Now I have the theme stuck in my head.

There's just no winning for me tonight, apparently.

Ah. I...find that I have no solution for that. Well, good luck anyways?

Thanks~! This happens to me a lot, actually. Songs stick in my brain like it's made of glue or something. It'll go away eventually. XD Or be replaced by something else.

It could be worse. I could have Katy Perry in my head again. XD

What is your last paper on? Because I kind of like my paper quite a bit, still, even if I am going over the page count right now.

The diagnostic validity of Asperger syndrome. Oh, it is riveting.

Oh, wow. The topic seems interesting, but no, I don't envy you having to write that. Lots of statistics, I assume?

Lord of the Rings could work as well, even if it is fantasy. It is epic, yet suitable for the task at hand. Or perhaps some Doctor Who! That is actually sci-fi, and wonderful.

I'd love to use both, but I'm already toeing the line on page count. XD;; Sadly, this paper is an in-depth analysis and I'm already dangerously close to going over the page limit with my draft (and my professor has seen only one of the four movies I'm discussing, so I have to include some basic, space-eating summaries as well).

I may yet rehash the paper into a more encompassing meta post, though, in which case Lord of the Rings will definitely go on it! Dr. Who would if I can ever get around to watching any of it.
