Dr Who: The Big Bang

In cosmological terms the Big Bang and the end of time are at opposite ends of the scale.

I find it appropriate that, in quality and entertainment terms, The Big Bang and The End of Time are also at opposite ends of the scale.

Oh yes! EoT felt drawn out and, to quote Lynda Day 'a little bit flabby'

BB was not flabby. It wasn't rapid action all the time, but it felt much tighter and it worked, made sense, and made a lot of pedants who have been picking up bits through the series happy. While still leaving us plenty to still find out.

I think that's as much as I can say without delving into the realms of spoilerdom.

The Big Bang was an impressive example of firing every Chekhov's Gun possible in the last act.

Including several that I didn't expect to BE Chekhov's Gun.

Oh, and thanks for avoiding spoilers - I've obviously seen it already but some people reading this might not have.

I get very annoyed when other people spoil so I'm aiming not to do that unless under a heading marked 'Spoilers' in large letters. And probably flocked so that an RSS feed doesn't grab it out from under the cut.

I don't think every possible Chekhov Gun got fired though. I think there's still one or two he's saving up for next Season.
