The higher ups already know about this, so I'm informing the rest of Unit 8 ( Read more... )

... I can already add something. Kurata's partners included this Taros individual, and also seemed to broker multiple deals with the Hellfire Gang and the Neon City government.

Curious.

...

You know.

I wonder.

Have we possibly taken for granted that the Demon Kings all have the same goal?

... What do you mean by that?

Consider.

Not wanting to inspire conflict? SPARING you?

Interacting with Tamers on that level, but not necessarily Sealing them... and seemingly not for the sick thrill of what Lillithmon attempted with Commander Satsuma.

This... does not fit with what we've seen Demon Kings do up until now.

...

But why would one of them be acting differently? Wouldn't they have the same goals? We KNOW they're working together, and without a motive, we can't assume he's a double agent...

Hmm, so most likely then whoever freed Kurata from 'Meltdown' was an asscociate of Barbamon's. With Kurata back on the scene he could regain some of what he'd lost. But then...why would the tell us? And ONLY us? All hostiles seemed to only know about Kurata's reappearance after Shiori's post, and she only knew thanks to the grapevine.

Also, there was a post from a Demon King months and months ago, their identity was never revealed however. They said they were on our side to serve they're own goals. With this new information...I'm positive that was Barbamon.

Well, we've seen that not all servants of a Demon King are prone to doing whatever they say. Some do struggle with it.

Perhaps the one who told us was a witness, also.

This is true. So then we have the very high possibility of a member within his ranks who's working for him...yet is on our side.

...Question is who?

An even better question, if this theory proves true.

Is this one on both sides someone we KNOW of, or someone still lurking in the shadows?

I find this puzzling, frankly.

While it would appear the Demon Kings' goals are the same, they seem to be... selfish in their means of getting there. Like all they truly desire is what their 'sin' drives them to do.

I don't expect you to take my word for it, however. But I can't help but put my finger there...

... It may make sense... that the Demon King of Greed desires to have more than the others... But even then, if that were true, he wouldn't have avoided giving Kyon or myself one of his seals.

I wonder if the reason they haven't attacked us directly like our other enemies is watching us self-destruct...?

In any case, theories are just that. We need more proof and refutations in order to figure out just what their true reasons and motivations are. So far, all we've been able to unearth so far is conflicting evidence.

Indeed. I suppose that's why we exist, isn't it?

Maybe he doesn't want to do the dirty work himself.
