The only thing I can figure is it's another one of those geek hierarchy thing. Seriously! There's a lot about fandom that freaks me out but THAT'S what those people enjoy. Ultimately, it makes them HAPPY and it doesn't hurt anyone. Who are we to judge. I think Mpreggers are much healthier physically and emotionally than binge drinkers and that's considered NORMAL for college aged individuals. I'd rather sit at home and write about Batman's struggles through morning sickness than pickle my liver in my smoke filled bar.

Yeah, I linked the article. It wasn't fandom itself that was mocking the mpreg but a reporter not involved with fandom. Which is what set me off. It's one thing for us to mock each other. It's another thing for someone who ISN'T part of it to mock us.
