“We’ve been through a lot together, ne Oh-chan?”

“Hmmm.” Ohno wished Nino wouldn’t talk sometimes. Times like now, right after sex, with Nino’s hand running languidly through Ohno’s hair, as he neared sleep in their large bed on a lazy summer afternoon.

“We’ve had our rough patches…and our passionate patches…” Nino continued, ardently.

“Hmmm.” Ohno was on the brink of unconsciousness, with Nino’s other hand absentmindedly stroking his arm.

“We’ve even broken up a couple of times…”

“……….” Ohno was no longer anywhere close to sleep. His eyes were now wide and alert. Whenever Nino brought up the ‘Dark Ages’ he meant business.

“So I think it’s time to put an end to all this.” Said Nino, significantly.

“W-what?!” Ohno’s heart stopped, and he stiffened under Nino’s caress. Did Nino mean….he wanted to break up again? But…Ohno hadn’t done anything wrong lately. Well, he did fish with Chinen for a couple of hours that one day, and spilt milk on the DS….but there was no way Nino could have known…….Ohno suddenly had a new, unbearable thought. Was Nino finally tired of Ohno? He could feel the tears welling, and hated the fact that Nino was still looking so happy.

“I think we should put an end to our fair-weather feelings, and tie the knot once and for all.” Nino finished with a sheepish grin, his hand finding and squeezing Ohno’s.

Ohno was crying now. This knot Nino wanted to tie must signify the end of their relationship for good, with no chance of mending things and getting back together. “I-is this what you r-really want?” He half sobbed.

“Then you accept?” Nino gasped, his eyebrows arched in surprise, and the worlds purest smile breaking across his lips.

A smile that broke Ohno’s heart, that it would appear now of all times. “I…won’t stop you.”

“Oh, Satoshi, I know you’re happy but you don’t have to cry.” Nino swooped down, and kissed Ohno’s forehead, wiping a few tears with his thumbs. “How about next week, Friday?”

“…I thought you meant n-now?” Ohno’s voice wavered a little, confused as to why Nino was setting a date to end things.

Nino giggled, “Well, aren’t you eager…but I want to do it properly. Oh! That reminds me…”

Ohno wasn’t eager at all, but tremendously devastated, and rather perplexed as to how one goes about breaking up properly. Nino however, looked ecstatic, as he rolled out of bed to grab his cell, and pace about the room as he waited for the other line to pick up.

“Hi Hi!”

“Aiba-chan, you’re my best man.”

“Aw, you’re my best friend too, Nino.”

“Not best friend, stupid. Best man.”

“Oh……… best man of what now?”

“Me. So are you busy next Friday afternoon?”

“Ah, yeah. Sho has the day off so we’re going to--”

“Cancel your plans and be at that Towa park near my apartment at,… um….I’ll say four.” Nino looked over his shoulder at the distressed Ohno. “Does four work for you, Oh-chan?”

“Uh…s-sure.” This was horrible news to Ohno, who came to the conclusion that Aiba was Nino’s new flame. Nino must want to cut off ties in front of Aiba so there wouldn’t be any animosity between the new couple.

“Okay…but why do I have to cancel my date again?” Aiba asked, unaware of Ohno’s turmoil.

“We’re getting married.” Whispered Nino, unintentionally lowering his voice as if the words were secret.

Ohno almost fainted from the blow.

Aiba and Nino were getting married. Moments after Ohmiya was finished forever.

“Oooohhhhh! Congratulations! Can I get married to Sho too? Please? Please?” Aiba sounded even more excited then Nino.

Ohno was confused again….If Aiba wanted to marry Sho then….who was marrying Nino?

“No! This is my wedding. You’re my best man, and Sho can be…. Ohno’s Maid of Honor or something.”

Ohno felt a great many things at once, hearing these words proclaimed with such conviction. None of it really sunk in though, as he kept eavesdropping on Nino’s conversation.

“Yay! I’ll do it! I’ll do it! Oh,…but what about Matsujun?”

“Oh…he can be….the minister or whatever. I’ll call him with details later.”

“Hehehe!” Aiba giggled. “I can’t believe that after all this time you two going to do it!”

Nino paused in both his pacing, and speech, to scratch the back of his head shyly, and examine his toes. “Me neither.”

“Awwww…you and Ohno were meant to be, so its about time!”

“Hehe…yeah………alright, talk to you later Aiba.”

“’kay! Say hello to the ‘wife’ for me!” Aiba hung up in laugher.

“Hear that Oh-chan? Aiba said….eh? How could you fall asleep at a time like this?” Nino walked over to the bed where Ohno had fainted from shock quite a while ago, and pulled the covers up around the sleeping man.

Debating briefly joining Ohno beneath the blankets, Nino decided against it, and dialed another number.

“Oy, MatsuJun….busy next Friday?”

Ohno was having a hard time dealing with his engagement to Nino. It wasn’t that he didn’t want to marry Nino, Ohno just didn’t understand why it was necessary. According to Sho, the marriage wouldn’t be legal, so Ohno couldn’t see why Nino wanted to waste time and money on a ceremony. Not that Nino was wasting a lot of money. It would be an open air wedding, rain or shine, (Nino dared the sky to cloud on his day,) Nino asked Jun to give the service rather then hire a professional, and all of the food at the reception was a wedding gift from Aiba.

Nino was even being strangely serious about the whole thing. For example, Nino announced four days before the ceremony, that he had asked the Ohno family for blessings on the partnership. Apparently, Mrs. Ohno said yes immediately, while Mr. Ohno coughed, and blamed dance for the way his son turned out, but recognized the couple all the same. When Ohno said that he wanted to do the same to the Ninomiya family, Nino wouldn’t let him go, and waved off the issue as unimportant tradition.

It seemed Nino had everything under control, for a shot gun wedding. He said he had even bought the rings, and decided that they would both wear tuxes for the ceremony. Well, at first Nino insisted on Ohno wearing a wedding dress, but after a long argument, and much deliberation, Ohno won his pants. Mainly because, as Ohno pointed out tiredly, a long dress would make it harder for Nino to grope the favored ass.

It wasn’t until the day before the wedding did Ohno realize he needed to write vows. He had just assumed Nino had done it for him like everything else, so Ohno was very alarmed when Jun called asking for a copy.

“You mean you haven’t written a word?” Jun asked from the other line.

“N-no…I didn’t know I was supposed too…” Ohno was fighting a severe nervous breakdown. He was horrible with words. He hardly knew enough kanji to read a newspaper. And now he had to write out how he felt about Nino by four tomorrow.

Jun sighed, “Well…do your best and call me when you’re done.”

“H-help me? Please?”

“Hey, I had to write the service, I’m done with my part of this wedding. Nino’s not even paying me, the stingy bastard.”

“I’m sorry…I’ll make sure we compensate you…”

“No, don’t worry about it, its not like I need the money. You know I‘m only doing this for you guys because it will be a useful experience in my acting career.”

“…Oh…” Ohno could sense Jun‘s lie, but was much to nervous to care. “Are you sure you won’t help me?”

“I think this is something you need to do by yourself, Riida. So just put on your big boy pants, and write what comes to you.”

“Okay…thanks Jun…”

“Anytime. Just make sure I get the vows before the service starts.” And Jun was gone. Ohno fought with himself briefly whether or not to appeal to Sho for help, but Sho would probably refuse too.

Ohno checked the time on his cell. It was almost four now. He had twenty four hours to write his vows. Well, not even that, because Aiba had planned a huge bachelor party for both bachelors later that evening.

With heavy reluctance, and a stomach churning violently with butterflies, Ohno set his phone on the desk, pulled out a stack of copy paper, and retrieved his lucky pencil from his art utensil cup.

And so the day of the ceremony arrived.

It was a simple and small service in the shade of a large tree in Towa park. Less then fifty folding chairs were set up on either side of the tree, at the end of the aisle. The Ohno family, Nino’s mom, as well as a few close friends made up both sides of the wedding party.

Nino had arrived first, and was leaning against the tree alone. He was surprised his mom had showed up, knowing her standpoint on his sexual preference. Well she did like Ohno, but she wanted the Ninomiya line to live on, and Nino was, of course, the difficult, unwilling child. Yet here she was, waving once with a smile, before going to talk with Mrs. Ohno about homemade jam recipes.

With a sad smile Nino sighed, knowing Ohno must have gone to the Ninomiya house after all.

“Nino, you shouldn’t look so depressed on your wedding day! You should be happy! Happy!” Aiba added, in English, to make sure Nino got the message.

Nino looked up, and away, hoping his eyes were deceiving him. Nino looked back. Nope, Aiba was still dressed in that horrid sparkly green tuxedo.

“…I was happy…. till I saw you. I thought that thing caught on fire awhile back?”

“My old tux did….this is a new one I had remade just for your special day! The best man has to look his best you know.” Aiba adjusted his sparkly green bowtie with a wink.

“So…did you come with Sho?” Nino sighed, deciding not to fight against Aiba’s impossible fashion sense.

“Yep. He’s with Ohno in the men’s bathroom now. Is Ohno feeling okay? He looked kind of sick…”

“He’s just nervous….” Nino fidgeted with his hands, hoping that it was just nerves getting to Ohno and that he wasn’t about to be jilted.

“Oh, okay. Oh! Oh! Matsujun! Matsujun! We’re up here!” Aiba waved energetically to the handsome man in a black pinstriped suit crossing the park.

Jun looked Aiba up and down, before turning to Nino. “Okay, lets get this started.”

“It doesn’t bother you?” Nino waved in Aiba’s general direction.

“No, I couldn’t ask for a better dressed Aiba for the Ohmiya wedding.” Jun laughed, before asking seriously. “Is Ohno ready? He never gave me a copy of his vows.”

“Yep he’s with Sho!” Aiba squatted in the grass to poke at a fuzzy caterpillar on a broken tree branch. “They’ll come when the music starts.”

Nino said nothing, thinking quickly of a way to cover for Ohno’s silence if the time came.

“Well I just hope he has something anyway.” Jun took up his position at the end of the aisle to address the congregation. “Attention, family, friends and random guests. If you would please settle down, we can get this over with as painlessly as possible.”

Nino scowled at Jun as he and Aiba also went into position, but spoke only that they could hear. “If you ruin my wedding, I’ll make sure you wake up bald tomorrow.”

Jun only blinked, and waved at Toma to start the cd player.

In an elegant white suit, Ohno walked nervously, but in time to ‘Here Comes the Bride’ as he and Sho approached to the non existent altar. Aiba was already sobbing with joy, though it had less to do with Ohno, and more to do with the sight of Sho walking up the aisle.

Nino greeted Ohno with a coy smile, that Ohno struggled to return, as they turned to face the presiding Matsumoto Jun.

“Good people of Tokyo, we have been summoned here today to witness the union of two people we hold close to our hearts, Ohno Satoshi, and Ninomiya Kazunari.”

Nino was beginning to regret assigning Jun the position of minister. Either Jun was hamming it up on purpose, or he had stared in one to many dramas.

“This union is unforgivable.” Jun paused for effect.

The crowd, and Aiba gasped. Nino was about to take the two steps required to give him punching distance to Jun, when Ohno caught his arm, alarmed.

“It is unforgivable in the eyes of many,” Jun continued with a warning glare at Nino. “Marriage is something sanctified by religion, and legalized by government. Love however, can be decided by no one. It can only be endorsed by those who feel its ember, and bask in its glow. The union we are witness to today, has no power in state or temple, but in love these two will be bound in an everlasting, unparalleled bond of strength.”

Here Aiba blew his nose loudly on a sparkly green handkerchief, as Jun continued. “Love however does not come easy or free. It requires constant care, and attention, and will be tested ruthlessly. But no matter what the trial, love will-”

“Shut up, Matsujun and get to the good part!” Nino interrupted Jun’s speech, much to the dictator’s displeasure.

“Well, then, what do you have to say to Ohno?” Jun would have spoken sourly, but he remembered he had an audience and kept the tone friendly, and only mildly threatening.

Nino cleared his throat, and took Ohno’s hands, one of which was still gripping Nino’s arm to stop him from lashing out at Jun. Nervous, scared, and self conscious, Nino’s expressive eyes searched Ohno’s.

“Satoshi….I’ve done and said many thoughtless things, and hurt you in more ways then one……but through it all, you’ve been patient with me. You’ve been my best friend, and my partner in crime for so many adventures……adventures….that I want to continue having… with you, Satoshi…….always.”

“Awww….so beautiful…” Aiba sob-whispered, behind Nino.

“And what do you Ohno, have to say to Nino?”

Ohno looked from Nino to Jun, back to Nino, who’s eyebrows where perked, expectantly.

“I….don’t know.” Blushing brilliant crimson, Ohno’s lower lip trembled, and he looked ashamedly into Nino’s eyes. “I just…like the way it feels being next to you, Kazu…” Ohno paused, speaking now to the spot of grass between them. “I like how you don’t shave…until you’ve seen if I’ve shaved…and how once a week….you like to wear clothes that match mine….”

Nino, who had been expecting Ohno to little more then mumble ‘I love you,’ was blushing as dark as Ohno. “Y-you notice that stuff?”

Ohno kept looking at the grass, as if stopping to recognize Nino would cause him to loose his next words forever. “I like that….that even before we were dating, you were never afraid to hold my hand in public…that you always take care of me….and…” Here Ohno finally looked up to Nino, redder then the rose on his chest. In a swift motion, he pulled Nino close, and whispered so that only they could hear. “And I like it when….you touch my ass.”

“I already knew that…why do you think I touch it so much?” Smiling genuinely, as Ohno backed away again, Nino squeezed his hands, knowing that the older man was beside himself with concern. “That worked fine.”

“R-really?”

“Yeah.”

“Aaaaaawwwwww!” Went the crowd, and Aiba.

“Ahem. If you’re done I’d like to proceed with the rest of the ceremony.” Interrupted Jun.

“Please do.” Nino answered, without looking away from Ohno.

“Will you, Ninomiya Kazunari, hereby take Ohno Satoshi to be your wedded wife, to care for him in sickness, health, and other states of wellbeing, to have and to hold, to love and to cherish faithfully, until death do you part?”

“Husband.” Ohno corrected Jun, who pointedly ignored the interruption.

“I will.”

“And will you, Ohno Satoshi, do all things I just said for Nino?”

“Yeah….I mean I will.”

“Okay, then the rings please.”

Aiba, very tear stained, pulled a large red velvet ring box from his pocket, and across the aisle, Sho did the same. Aiba opened his box, and gasped. “Why are there two rings? And why is this one so big?” Aiba pulled out a gold band much to large to fit on a finger.

Sho, very pale, quickly stepped over to Aiba, and whispered something in his ear, causing the taller man to giggle. “Are they going to put those on here?”

“I don’t think so, Masaki…that’s something you do in private….”

“The rings please!” Jun interrupted, impatient.

“Sorry, sorry, here’s your coc--I mean wedding rings….yeah.” Nino snatched the box out of Aiba’s hands, with a death glare, and Sho gave his box to a still beet red Ohno, who didn’t know his ring finger would have a match in his pants.

“Thanks for ruining the surprise Aiba…” Mumbled Nino, as he took Ohno’s left hand. “I Ninomiya Kazunari, with this ring, promise to take care of you forever.”

“Um…me too.” And Ohno slipped the ring on Nino’s left ring finger.

“Now that Nino and Ohno have consented in marriage, proclaimed their love for each other, and exchanged rings to prove….hey I haven’t said ‘kiss the bride!’”

But it was too late.

Hands laced, Nino cupped Ohno’s cheek, and gave him the sweetest kiss he was capable of giving.

The kiss was the only part of the ceremony that Ohno felt he was capable of doing well. He let go of Nino’s hand, to grab the small of Nino’s back and pull Nino close.

“AAAAAAaaaaaaaaaaaaaaawwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww” Came the crowd again, and Aiba, with applause.

“Okay…I now pronounce you man and….man.” Jun stepped around the kissing couple. “The reception, as you can see, has been set up in the Towa park designated picnic area, so if everyone would reconvene over there, it would be greatly appreciated.” And Jun headed down the aisle to lead the way to the wedding reception, followed by the guests.

Ohno and Nino were still kissing, a little less sweetly, and a little more passionately.

“That was so beautiful, Sho!” Aiba sniffed, watching the newlyweds. “When will we get married?”

“Oh…I don’t know….I didn’t realize you wanted to…” Sho tugged Aiba away from the tree, to give the couple a privacy.

Ohno and Nino….were pulling at each other’s suits.

“Car…now.” Nino grinned against Ohno’s lips, undoing his white tie.

“But…the wedding cake….” Ohno protested, but not very forcefully, as he let Nino drag him across the park to the limo he had waiting. “Did you rent this?” Ohno gasped, unable to believe that Nino would spend so much on a get away car.

“No, it’s Sho’s wedding present. Quick, get in.” Nino opened the door, and all but threw Ohno in the back seat.

“To airport, and don’t stop no matter what you hear.” Nino informed the elderly chauffeur, who merely nodded before Nino closed the dividing window, and curtain.

Ohno hadn’t heard what Nino had said, and was admiring the luxury of the vehicle when Nino suddenly pounced in his lap.

“Oh, hello.”

“We just got hitched, and that’s all you can say?” Grinning, Nino pressed his forehead against Ohno’s.

“What should I have said?”

“I don’t know…” Nino whispered, giving his tongue to Ohno’s mouth.

Ohno’s mouth accepted the gift, and offered Ohno’s tongue in exchange.

“Oh!” Nino withdrew, to produce the velvet ring case, removing the large gold band. “I haven’t claimed you as mine yet…”

“H-how did you know what size?” Ohno asked, as Nino undid his pants.

“I put the different sized rings in my mouth to find one felt right.” Nino stated, mater-of-fact

“I-is that so?” Ohno shivered as the cool metal slid up his sensitive and now semi solid member.

“It is so.” Nino sat next to Ohno, and pulled out the second ring box from Ohno‘s suit pocket. “Okay, now you do me.”

“Why…did you buy these?” Ohno asked, undoing Nino’s pants expertly.

“I figured we wouldn’t be able to wear our finger rings all the time because of work, but these we can wear whenever.” Nino let out a seductive hiss against the chill of the metal, as it slid up his length. “Anymore questions before I’m too aroused to think clearly?”

“Um….why did you want to marry me?” Ohno asked, in all earnestness, kicking off his pants, shoes, and socks, as Nino did the same.

“You know I love you.” Nino grinned, pulling Ohno into his now naked lap.

“Yeah, but you‘ve loved me for years….so why now?”

“I thought it was about time we had a honeymoon.”

Ohno had something else to ask, but with the recent activity pushing against him, and the lips kissing along his neck he couldn’t remember so well, and elected to kiss the bow of Nino’s ear when it came in range.

A honeymoon….didn’t sound so bad, Ohno thought.
