I miss karaoke so much! Sometimes I'll call up my friends and have the urge to say, "Hey, want to go out for karaoke tonight!" and then I realise that it's not exactly the same here as it is in Japan. D:

Haha. I have the most horrible time reading romaji. I really despise it, and I'll only write it out once in awhile for people on my friends' list if they can't read Japanese and sometimes for communities (song titles, song lyrics, names . . .et cetera).

That was my first time doing karaoke ^^; it was fun~
and yeah, it's definitely not the same >.<;

I don't know WHEN exactly romaji became hard to read...XD
I like the original titles because I learn to recognize more kanji that way XD

Oh, it certainly is fun. Too bad that I didn't get to go the last week I was there with these two guys I met, it would have been great--one had promised to sing a few songs for me. Haha.
No, it's not the same at all. I know that there are places in NYC where you can have Japanese 'box' style karaoke places, but most karaoke bars are wide open and you sing in front of a bunch of people. That, and there aren't many Japanese songs.

When I started learning Japanese a year ago is when it became hard for me. XDD;
I have all my songs with the original titles on my computer, only when I upload them for other people to I change the names because otherwise my computer won't allow them to upload. D:
I think I only know a little more than 2,000 kanji at this point. &is a disappointment; DDDDDDDD: I fail at life. Though, maybe I'm not doing too bad, considering I only started Japanese a year ago, I don't know. I read a novel in Japanese once! That must be a good sign . . .

If you're a disappointment, I wonder what I am because I started studying Japanese a year ago and I can read maybe 300-400 kanji. D:

Haha. It'd be really weird to call any teachers Mr./Ms. Something. .__. Here in Finland we always call teachers either "teacher" or with their first name.. XD.

I'm also super envious that you have Japanese in your school. -_-'

And daaaamn, we don't have any cool restaurants or karaoke places like that XDDD; Dude, I live in such a boring place. -_-'' haha!

Reading Japanese in romaji is really awkward. O.O

Is it more common to call them "teacher"? or 1st names?

and yeah i <3 that ONE aspect of my school XD (but... my High school didn't have Japanese >.<;... friends from a different high school have japanese though T-T ::envy::)

it IS awkward o-o; i don't know exactly WHEN it became awkward, but it did XD

It depends on the person I think. I sometimes can't remember the names of our teachers immediately so I might call them "teacher". XDD; But both "teacher" and 1st names are commonly used.

Haha, yeah. In Finland it's hard to find any schools which offer Japanese courses. -_-''

Yes. D: It really bugs me when people use romanized Japanese. I mean, once at IRC-Galleria, I saw two chicks "talking" to each other in romanized Japanese. That was so WTF. And well, my Japanese was twice as bad at that time as it is now and I could still notice that they made loads of mistakes.. XD;

Ah ^-^ yeah... first names are usually a big no-no here unless the teacher specifically asks you to use their first name ^^;...but i still feel uncomfortable using first names...so i try not to have to say their names when i say something XD

yeah >.<; not having schools with japanese blahhhh XP

japanese people on myspace use romaji and... i dunno... even though i know it's right, it's hard for me to read XDDD
and YES! definitely annoying when there are tons of mistakes ...mistakes make me cringe >.<; when i write something and find a mistake i sit there thinking T-T "whyyyyyyyyyy" XD
