I was pretty into my book, and my iPod was up fairly loud--so basically I was pretty well cut off from the world. But as I'm walking along, I become aware of someone shouting "hey! Hey! HEY!". Eeek that's definitely creepy. As a young woman, one can't be too careful - when I was working as a floral clerk at a grocery store while in college, I encountered a few creeps, myself. One really gross guy got all flirty with me and actually went so far as to grope me while I was bending to water the plants, and then skittered out the door before I could do anything. The manager had already ordered him off the property (for unrelated reasons), so there was nothing further I could have done. Another guy came up to me outside and made small talk while I watered the plants outside, and then sat in his car and watched me for awhile; it creeped me out so much that I wrote down his license plate number and the make/model of his car, and then kept an eye out for him in the future while I was driving home. Fortunately, I never saw either of these people more than those one times. But it is always good to be vigilant and trust your gut - better to be a little bit paranoid and remain safe than err on the side of politeness and sorely
