Computer troubles...Book happiness

I don't like viruses.  Or possible viruses.  I think my computer may have a Trojan horse virus/worm/thing, but I'm not sure.  It came up on my Symantec antivirus software as being "quarantined," and who knows what that means.  As far as I can tell, it hasn't done anything and nothing's wrong with my computer (although a few random Internet Explorer ( Read more... )

Eek! I loath comp scares like that! I really hope your comp is okay!

Yay for L. M. Montgomery! :D I think I have all her books, except the Emily of New Moon books but my sister in-law has them so close enough.

Computer scares are horrible...we'll see how it goes... *crosses fingers*

I love L.M. Montgomery! I think the only books of her's that I'm missing now are a couple of the short story anthology compilation books that came out a couple (maybe 15?) years ago. Like "Among the Shadows" or "Akin to Anne"--a bunch of short stories loosely tied together by a common theme. Some lady found a bunch of them in the attic of Montgomery's house and published them all together. I think they were originally published in magazines. It's interesting to see how some short stories were incorporated into the "Anne" series. And some are completely new and wonderful. She really had a gift for short stories...

She really did. I have several of her short story compilation books, like "At the Altar" and "The Doctor's Sweetheart" and one about letter writing... can't remember the name just now. They are such delightful reads. ^^

Which of her book is your favorite? Mine has to be hands down "The Blue Castle" :D

Ooh, I love "At the Altar" and "Doctor's Sweetheart"--such sweet stories (I love "Kismet!") They are delightful--I keep trying to get all of them, and I think I'm fairly close... *crosses fingers*

I really really love "Anne of the Island," but yes, "Blue Castle" is probably my favorite stand alone novel. I love Valancy. :)

I wish I could help, but when something like that happens, I tend to stare blankly at the screen and then go find someone who can figure out what's going on. :-/

Yay for thrift stores! :-)

I've never throught to look for Slipper and the Rose sheet music! I guess it doesn't matter anyway, because we aren't British...

My brother usually figures out my computer troubles, but he's at home and I'm at college, so that's a bust. Right now I'm just kind of crossing my fingers and running a virus scan every couple of hours!

Thrift stores are indeed awesome--it has been far too long since my last visit, so it was nice to find a bunch of good things there. :)

I've always wished I had the sheet music for a couple songs, and I was randomly internet surfing and came upon this webpage (http://www.musicroom.com/se/ID_No/052583/details.html) and voila! SatR sheet music for only (sense the sarcasm) $40! They do ship worldwide but I don't want it that badly... I might have my library get it--the benefits of working in the Music and Dance department of a college library! :D

Sounds reasonable to me!

I've found a number of different books from thrift stores. Good books at a good price, plus it's nice to know you're giving them a good new home!

Nice to know that your job has it's uses. ;-)
