“People new to the scene don’t acknowledge the difference between the image that the idol created for herself and the actual girl."
So the old fans know how to distinguish the actual girl and their idol image.
“I hear a lot of new fans say ‘What’s wrong with making love to an idol? Is there some law against it?’ Otaku will spend loads of money for a pseudo-romance with an idol, but only on the condition that the maiden remains pure!”
I'm not really in band fandoms, but are The Gazette fandom known more than most for having wank? This is news to me. I mean, they make music! I don't see what there is to wank about amongst each other.
The Gazette fandom is a piece of work; I've never seen anything like it. It's full of broke, pretentious bitches who pick on each other hardcore and then bag the band out for being human as well. I LOVE The Gazette but I stay so far removed from the majority of fans, especially around album release dates. The fans will bitch about the price of the albums and call the band money hungry; some will bitch at those that can afford to buy the album saying that they're feeding Gaz's 'sell out' tendencies. Others complain that the albums wouldn't be so expensive if people didn't constantly leak stuff on line the day of the release while others get on their soup boxes about how too many of the songs were written by Ruki.
And that's just an album! Don't even get me started of the idiocy that arises when they go on tour. Or have a new photoshoot. Or tweet something. o.0
I sit on the sidelines with popcorn and vodka, wishing I could throw things through the computer screen. Heavy things. Like bricks.
Dude, do people not realize that musicians don't do shit for free?
I mean, you can love doing something as much as you want. You can honestly feel passionate about something... and still want to make money off of it, too. That's smart. That's the ideal thing to do. No matter how much The Gazette might love their fans and making music, they can't continue doing that if they receive nothing to support themselves
