Why Don’t People Like the New Iron Chef?

When Fuji TV announced the return of Iron Chef to primetime television, a lot of buzz was generated. However, their two-hour debut claimed just a 10% share of the ratings, half of what the original program regularly held. It got worse from there as later episodes slunk to around 7%.

Allegedly it was so bad that some female personalities outright refused to join the program because of his involvement.

I've been watching it - was quite disappointed by the new one. The idea of trying to find a new iron chef sounds interesting but how long is that going to take? The set itself is SO fancy - too fancy in fact. I know that they are trying to make it all wow and whatnot but sometimes simple is best. Tamaki is a bit too quiet - I also really miss Kaga's craziness with his announcements and the pepper and stuff too LOL

I'm curious too! This is the 1st time I've heard something like this? I mean, look at this guy? How can he have a bad reputation? oO

looks can be deceiving! jk, i love him haha. but right? it's the 1st time I've heard anything suggestively negative about him too. maybe they're just making the story juicier. I watched one ep and just thought it was boring.

True, but I really can't associate anything bad with him. I hope it's just a rumour too. From the interviews I've seen him in, he just seems like such a nice, gentle sort of guy, but then again, we don't really know what happens behind the scenes, do we? haha.

Besides liking the original Iron Chef, I'm mainly watching the new season for Tamaki >_>

HD guts aside, I would have liked to see an updated way they done everything, reboot the show, reboot the way the rules are.
