Well, that's...not how I expected this day to go

Apr 18, 2013 14:58

You guys, I have a GINORMOUS Escapade con report written that's just been sitting there waiting for me to proofread it and add some links, but I just can't seem to get myself to do that last little bit of work, and then I got locked into the thing where I'm not allowed to post anything else until I post the damn con report, and that's how it's been ( Read more... )

OH, GOD. I AM SO SORRY. *HUGS YOU*

I WOULD HAVE BEEN TERRIFIED TOO.

I love dogs, so to have a crazy giant dog *attack* me, KNOCK ME DOWN AND TRY TO KILL ME, would have had me out of my MIND.

AND YES, BE MAD, BE VERY VERY MAD, BECAUSE ANYONE WHO'D HAVE A DOG LIKE THAT OUTSIDE WITHOUT A MUZZLE IS WALKING THEIR OWN TIME BOMB.

I have friends who own an anxious dog, and that black lab NEVER goes out of the house without a muzzle. BECAUSE YES, ANY DOG THAT CAN BE TRIGGERED TO ATTACK BY SOMEONE WALKING UP BEHIND IT IS PERFECTLY SAFE TO WALK THE STREETS WITH.

*pets you*

Sweetie, thank you so much for this. I also love dogs, have never been scared of them, so this was just super random and weird for me. And I really, really appreciate the support and confirmation that my feelings are valid. I have a hard time understanding what's okay and what's not okay, and that my feelings are always okay, in situations like this, so thank you for helping me with that. {{{hugs}}}

Omg! OMG! It sounds horrible. i'm glad you work with good people who looked after you. It sounds like that was when the shock of it wore off and you needed help. I, too, would have been stoic and strong and shrugged off help initially. Still, i think people suck sometimes and should have offered to help you. I'm also glad you survived employee health. I understand the Doctor's anxiety.

I've been on the other of the situation. I hope you find out the owner of the dog just for your own piece of mind. I felt horrified when it happened and in our case it turned out ok, but it will always be an awful memory for you.

Hugs. Rest and enjoy Teen Wolf.

Thank you, my dear. I'm still feeling really grateful for the support I got from my coworkers and from you guys.

I'm sorry you've had to deal with this from the other end. I can imagine how horrified I would feel if a pet of mine did something like this.

I still feel horrible for you. Almost like I did when my dog Barkley bit a stranger. In our case, it was a jogger running toward us. I stopped to let him pass, but he didn't slow down or stop, nor did he say anything, so my dog thought he was going to attack me ( ... )

That is pretty much the definition of O.O!!!

I'm glad you're mostly okay now, and that good people took care of you (eventually).

Thank you so much for confirming that this was a O.O kind of situation! In all seriousness, thank you--I have a hard time recognizing what warrants that kind of reaction sometimes. And it's really helpful to hear that, no, this really is a fucking weird and messed up situation and freaking out is a 100% valid reaction! :)

Oh no! I'm so sorry that happened to you! Because, yes, you should be able to walk to work for working purposes without being attacked!

Thank you very much for the hugs and virtual tea, sweetie. What an ordeal! Yeah, it doesn't seem like too much to ask to be able to go to work and do my job like I do every day without getting attacked by a big dog. Pretty crazy.

Oh gosh, honey--I'm so sorry that happened to you! *hugs hugs hugs* I hope very much for those people's sake that this WAS the one time their dog snapped; that can absolutely happen, it's not just bad/aggressive dogs who panic and bite sometimes, but man. Not good. Those people had better get to training ASAP.

But you did just the right thing, bb. Take care of you and then, when you're thinking a little more clearly, take steps to try and make sure the dog's owners take this seriously. Good work, for real!

And I hope that you are feeling much better now and have had nothing but pleasant, uneventful walks to work since. <3<3<3
