This is something I thought about in the wee hours of the morning and figured I should post. omfg, thinky thoughts. Cut for talk about Nazis and rape jokes, non-graphic, just in case.

I do think some more light-hearted takes on Hitler/the nazis are inappropriate... idk if you watch Doctor Who but Let's Kill Hitler icked me out and I was not the only one. On the other hand, I don't recall ever seeing a rape joke I thought was funny. :/ So yeah.

I hadn't really thought of why, exactly, Hitler jokes work - but you're right. I hate rape jokes anyway - and the 'rapeface' label that pops up in at least one of my fandoms makes me twitch - but... I almost want to hear one mocking the rapist. Just to know that someone did it, even if it was a terrible joke.

The only one I can think of that comers even close is from back home in Finland - there's this genre of "What is the pinnacle of...?" jokes and there's one that goes "q: What is the pinnacle of megalomania? A: An ant crawling up the leg of an elephant with the gleam of rape in his eyes"

I think there's another rape joke that mocks the victim. It was in a spoof horroscope I saw that went along the lines of "You sigh in relief when you see the new Boots ad as you're glad to see you're not the only one who uses drugs to get women to have sex with you" (The ad btw, shows a man offering aspirin to his SO when she says she's got a headache.)
