However, by the time it came out on DVD, I was a tad low on funds and so couldn't buy it. And by the time that the third movie came out in theaters and went ( Read more... )

Oh I loved it as well. I loved how Will's character cycle went, as well as with Elizabeth. I thought their ending was perfect... now did you watch the tag after the credits? not mentioning anything just in case you haven't.

I LOVED how Will's character went from being the noble, upstanding naive boy to the backstabbing, two-timing, pirate-y scoundrel all in the name of keeping his promise, back to a noble, upstanding, seasoned man.

YES. So much YES.

After the first movie I was pretty much ship-neutral, but when I walked out of the second movie I knew two things: 1) Norrington was, hands-down, my favorite character, and 2) Will/Elizabeth was my favorite ship. It isn't until well into the second movie that I think Will shows he's got the stuff to win and keep Elizabeth's heart.

The scene in the third movie that kills me every time is when the Dutchman comes back up and Will's all pirate captain-y and he's got the bandana and the coat and just GUH. Guh, I say!

I loved Norrington, yes, but he was my third favorite. Jack -- I may not be a Depp fan, but I DID love Jack, Will and then Norrington. But Will and Elizabeth really captured me when watching it all in a row. Just beautiful. I'm unreasonably annoyed by all of the Jack/Elizabeth fic/vids out there, also, LOL!

Uh, that scene, just -- man, the whole last twenty minutes or so of the third film was just made of so much win!!!
