1) Start with this as your base.

2) Duplicate the base and set it to screen. This brightens up the image and creates a little bit more depth.

3) Everything is kind of blue and washed out, so we want to give Seth more natural flesh-y colors.
Create a color fill layer. Soft light, 40% opacity, da96c3.

4) Things are looking really washed out, the colors aren't very strong, and the icon doesn't have enough contrast. We can fix this with one layer!
Curves Adjustment Layer → Don't add ANY points. Just set the layer to soft light, 70% opacity.

5) Repeat the same step, this time at 100% opacity.

6) We're going to pump up the colors just a teensy bit.
Vibrance Adjustment Layer → Vibrance: +55; Saturation: 0.

7) At this point I decided I wanted the icon to be mainly blue, magenta and red. So...
Selective Color Adjustment Layer →
Reds: 0, +31, 0, 0
Yellows: 0, 0, +85, 0
Cyans: +74, 0, 0, 0
Blues: +90, 0, 0, 0
Magentas: 0, +100, 0, 0

8) The icon needs to be have warmer tones for his face and lips.
Color Fill Layer → Screen, 100%, 21020b.

9) Now we've lost a lot of the blues, so we'll have to work to bring them back in.
Selective Color →
Yellows: 0, 0, +84, 0
Cyans: +100, -100, 0, 0
Blues: +92, -94, 0, 0

10) This screwed up the skin tones. AGAIN. Back to the drawing board.
Photo Filter Adjustment Layer → Warming Filter (85) → Set to 50% opacity.

11) I forget why I did this. I just did.
Gradient Map Adjustment Layer → Copper. Check the "Reverse" checkbox. Set to soft light.
Hue/Saturation Adjustment Layer → Hue: -180. Make this clipping layer (either click the two-circle-y button or go to layer → create clipping mask).

12) Duplicate the photo filter layer from before, drag it to the top, set to 100% opacity. We're getting warmer!

13) Repeat the last step.

14) Select all (command+a on a mac), copy all layers (shift+command+c on a mac) and paste (command+v on a mac). Then sharpen this layer how you please, or this way:
Filter → Sharpen → Smart Sharpen
Basic!
Default Settings!
Amount: 250%
Radius: 0.2 pixels
Remove: Gaussian Blur

15) Set this texture by innocent-lexys to screen:

Repeat step 14.
