set me on fire in the evening

Mostly non-good things happened today, the sort of minor annoyances and disappointments that chip away at my good humour until I find myself stalking down Elizabeth Street through my day with a grim face ( Read more... )

you've been having rain? i hope just enough to raise the water tables but not so much as to flood.

i stopped watching supernatural about halfway through the season. not sure what happened to my interest in it. i still like jensen ackles a lot as dean.

Plenty of rain. And parts of the state did flood but thankfully the dams got water too. *touches wood* And then we had sunny respite and now the rain's back. *sigh* Wet sock weather.

Yeah, I remember you posting about how it got a bit too gruesome for you. As the season unfolded here, I totally understood.

I think I'm finally going to get Young Modern as well! It's being released here in a week or two, so I don't even have to buy the expensive import! (although I kind of want to anyway because they come with a DVD!)

I've heard nothing but good reviews, and I even like the b-sides on the "Straight Lines" single I bought there!

I had my bout with Daniel Johns love when I was 16...hahaha...but I still really like him. :)

I have that version! With the DVD, I mean. Although I'm a lil afraid to watch it in case the video with closeups of Daniel Johns with those blue eyes and chiseled face and possible eyeliner get me all, um yes.

Oh excellent. Well, I'm liking it. Not to the point of obsession but it's a good satisfying sound.

Heh. Yeah, children of the Nineties, us. How could we not be aware or even a little in love with Daniel Johns? :p

Young Modern is amazing I reckon. It's completely different to their earlier albums but at the same time complements them in a totally spellbinding way. :)

That is the most perfect thing you could have said. Exactly what I was wondering!

To display my total silverchair ignorance, what's the album with Across The Universe or what I persist in thinking of as the 'watching you watch over me' song? I want to say Diorama but that can't be right time-wise, can it?

Yeah, I think the song you're thinking of is 'The Greatest View' which is from Diorama. :)

BTW: when it comes to Silverchair I'm only barely beyond ignorance myself, having only discovered them a few weeks ago!

In that time I have grown to LOVE Neon Ballroom and Young Modern. (I like Diorama too, but it's still in the process of being burned into my mind.)

Oh, I'm fighting. Precisely because of pictures like in your icon. Way too Nineties grunge for me. I have bad memories of silverchair being the Biggest Thing here and me reacting against such fervour. *shudder*

The odd thing is that as he's getting older, I'm liking Daniel Johns more and more. Physically, I mean. As a musician, I'm only just discovering him.

But, god, he's hot in the album pix. All hard and beautiful and a lil deviant with eyeliner. Wuff.

See, all that works fine and very hot in theory, in FICTION ... but in reality, NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! *wails* I'm just so relieved to see him healthy and no longer looking like he's miserable and about to die. Also, I like Natalie and them together. They're so pretty and in love.

I take it you may not have seen the very new pix of him from Splendour? Holy mother of god, my knees nearly buckled.
