Best thing I can say about season 2 of Hawaii Five-0: ( at least it's over. )

they lost me halfway through whichever season it is we are getting here in France. I even got nostalgic for Jack Lord!

First season was wonderful. In the second, they started bringing in unnecessary (female) characters which messed up the team dynamic and downplaying the relationship between Steve and Danny After those characters left, they seemed to get back to what made the show so good first season, then it kind of fell apart in the finale. IMHO, some people didn't mind it as much as I did.

And Alex O'Loughlin and Scott Caan have way more chemistry than Jack Lord and James McArthur. The writing wasn't stellar but they had everything that I look for in a show when it comes to my male cop partners.

not difficult to have more chemistry than Jack Lord! he had to be one of the most wooden actors ever!

sometimes I think every episode of H50 should be 2 hours long coz 1 hour just isn't long enough to pack in everything they want to say with credibility.

this should have been part 1 and part 2 would be next week - since when is a season 23 eppies long anyhow?

but for the most part I really enjoyed it - I am obviously in the minority here but for the sheer entertainment and "pretty" factors alone I was glued.

I actually would love so much more from this show but I don't think it ever set out to be of uber quality storywise - it was basically a canvas for a beautiful place and pretty people doing impossible things and as long as I keep that in mind (for myself) it works....

I need to read reviews like yours tho to bring me back to earth! so thanx - I enjoyed your take very much! ♥♥

You're right, both about needing two hours per ep (since they put in so many more commercials these days, I think eps are about 42 min long. argh) and that they never set out to be high quality story-wise. But still, we can only sustain so much disbelief!

Maybe they had to cut one ep due to Alex being unavailable. Seasons used to have 28 to 30 eps... those were the days!

I was glued to the tv from the beginning, prepared to hand wave the stuff about Fryer etc. but then when Chin showed up to get Delano out... I started really being more bothered than usual.

Glad you "enjoyed" my take even though you liked the ep. And at least the stuff between Danny & Steve and Chin with his shirt off did give us some great moments in the finale.

I hands down agree with everything you just said and then some. BTW, I was out of the room momentarily when Kamekona came to the hospital so I didn't see the entire scene but why would he bring Max shrimp. Isn't Max allergic to shellfish, tha's why he always gets tofu instead. Just wondering.

OMG, I think you're right! Guh! I'll have to check the dvr to see exactly what he brought. I know Joe asked if he brought the spicey shrimp he likes and Joe got one out and ate it during the scene. Even bringing Max some sort of tofu dish would seem a bit out of line though anyway -- you can't eat non-hospital food (if you can eat solid food at all) that soon after that kind of surgery!

Max is supposed to be the only one who eats it too, so does Kamekona keep it on the menu just for him?
