Best thing I can say about season 2 of Hawaii Five-0: ( at least it's over. )

::takes a bow:: Thanks. I wish it hadn't been this way, though. I wish I could have been gushing all day instead of wasting my free time on ranting about it.

I simply shouldn't even watch the 5-0 finales. They do so muh better eps in the middle of the season.

Totally yes to everything you said. All the characters are reduced to single issues that 'define' them. Danny is a good dad but this is the second year in a row that we've ended on a 'cliffhanger' about his relationship to Grace and Rachel.

I knew immediately that Kono could swim once she got into the water. It would be the work of a second to pull the tape off her face, wiggle her feet, come to the surface and then get the tape off her hands. Heck, I could probably do it and I'm not a good swimmer.

The Joe/Shelborne plot has NEVER been a favorite of mine. After numerous things Steve has done this season, he doesn't deserve to be boss of 5-0. How can they justify him leaving again?

Why would Kamekono bring Max shrimp when he's just out of surgery? He can't eat. It was a completely worthless scene.

Loved Danny's line in the police garage, "I know it was the white one (cop car)." 'Cause all of them were white. ;-D

I think you've hit upon the solution. Just don't watch the last episode because it's probably going to be the worst.

I know -- it was thin enough the first time, but they had to write it in because of Alex's RL stuff. This time there's no excuse whatsoever. And seriously, how can the governor keep him as an employee after this? I know, we're just going to hand wave all that, like so much else.

Yeah, I loved that quip of Danny's. Thanks for reminding me. I forgot to mention it as one of the few bright spots.

If I'd had a pic of me being tortured, I'd've used it.

I had to literally bust out laughing at that.

I agree with practically everything you said, in fact, I griped about the show this morning on my own LJ.

There's a few more small bones to pick about how Max awakened from anesthetic perfectly aware and alert (it doesn't happen like that, people) and I am glad you noted the wrongness of him being brought solid food...

Shirtless Chin was just about the best thing in the whole ep. However. Taped or not, he would NOT be putting out his hand and helping Steve up off the floor with broken ribs. Just, no.

This show. *shakes head*

LOL. I'm a nurse. I keep having to tell myself, they have some sekrit Hawaiian healing properties on this series. Super!Steve getting shot multiple times in the back--even with kelvar on--should have been badly bruised, if not with cracked ribs himself and even a collapsed lung. But noooo, he's fine, Danny.

At least there was something amusing about my review, lol.

Yeah, I noticed Max was fairly coherent despite major surgery too.

I've had broken ribs and no, Chin shouldn't have been able to do all the active moves he did with them, and not just because he's a little younger and more physically fit than I am.

I want to love this show, I really do. But they aren't making it easy, are they?

wow - you summed up my feelings about the episode. I was also amazed at how Chin could crouch, run, and be so physical after BROKEN RIBS. Really?

I did several time checks through the episode to see if we were done yet.

The network should hire some of the fan fiction writers. Many of them are a lot better staying true to characters, thinking up interesting and new plots, and leaving the fans looking for the next episode. At this point I don't have a lot of enthusiasm for the next season.

I can suspend belief to buy into various fictional worlds but the writers of Hawaii 5-0 are coming real close to my personal line. A novel idea - feature case fiction as the main course and save the personal angst and reveals as seasonings and appetizers. Seems to have worked well for the Law and Order franchise. Maybe not go quite that far, but I would like to see a better thought out drama and story arcs.

I'm kind of worried they've passed mine. And I've been in a fandom with what we used to regard as bad writing. It's starting to look like Pulitzer Prize winning stuff in comparison to Five-0 however.

*snicker* I'm trying to figure out whether TS had better writing, or if I just didn't know enough to recognize most of the writing problems back then.

But, yeah... I still like the characters' interaction, but the stories are pathetic.
