Do I dare. Disturb the universe?

Aug 27, 2009 00:56

You know, I think if I keep writing this entry in a word processor, I'm never going to finish, so I'm just going to write in the lj text space.

The first thing I'd like to say is that I'm exuberantly, unabashedly in love with Crystal and she, Julia and I are in a polyamorouslesbian!relationship and it's made of awesome.

I am glad for you. I admit I don't fully understand polyamory, but I have many friends who live this way and make it work, and I think love is love, and if you can make this work, more power to you.

Costuming and acting, these can be so useful in exploring sides of the self for which the "real world" has no room, selves that are integral to our being, not to mention it's incredibly fun.

Thanks. I didn't really understand polyamory until it happened...still sorting all that out though.

And I totally agree about costuming. I mean, I went to con with a thrift store costume and no real aims, but it gave me a space to start re-thinking myself in relation to gender. But more than self-exploration, it provides opportunities to re-examine the world and, like you've said, to have fun. I have loads of fun being Crystal!Snape's tart/co-dependent Remus, it's endearing...and kinda sexy.

Whatever gets you by and gives you love and inspiration, that's what it's all about.

We went to our first con with barely anything, and Draco's clothing still in customs. We were outfitted by Whimsic Alley and the reaction we got was beyond our wildest dreams, it was amazing, and it's been just as amazing with every con. This IS our family, and it is very much real, for acting is real and a wonderful part of life.

Yay! You guys are adorable and made of awesome. Watching the three of you interact makes me happy because you're all so adorable. Disneyland was a great opportunity for that.

I miss you guys. Come back soon. That reminds me...You guys should seriously try to get Crystal to come next time.

Wow, I realized after hitting send the wonderful pun that was in the making.

You guys should seriously try to convince Crystal to attend the next event. There...much less "get her to come" than the first go at it.

I was about to ask if you were questioning my prowess there. Glad we have all that sorted out. Yeah, it is kinda fun when we pull together the good ship ot5. I think we should keep a house points scoreboard by the way. And the winner gets...well, we'll sort that out when and/or if someone wins.

You three are absolutely beautiful. I've talked to and read about many couples and their experiences...but I rarely get to know any polyamorous couples. It sounds like the three of you have very healthy expectations of each other, and understand the system of maintaining a healthy relationship well...or something to that effect (it's 3 a.m. and I'm tired too from studying all day...all week...all month), and I'm happy that it is seeming to work. I hope it does, because what you found in each other is rare.

I hope you can tell us more about how you've integrated costuming into your daily life, and how that expands your "vocabulary" or self-expression. I am very interested from an academic point of view, especially since it is widely acknowledged and discussed how clothing is an expansion of self-identity, but not necessarily of every day cosplay.

GAH. My horrible grammar. I'm too lazy and tired and can't quite see straight (I blame slash Iron Man fanfic too, in addition to MCAT studying) to edit my entry.

Dude, we can talk academia/dissertation any time (after September 10th, that's my MCAT day) you want. I am starved for conversations like this. Well, you're the expert with gender theory. I am not all that well-versed in it, but very interested in learning more, even though I don't consider myself queer at all (well, okay, I think maybe I'm partially male-identified).

I slash Tony Stark with Bruce Wayne :D

I also sometimes slash Tony Stark with Captain America. But I mostly slash him with Bruce Wayne. I also slash Bruce Wayne with Clark Kent. Unlike some male characters, I don't share Bruce Wayne with too many people, so that's it for him, at least when it comes to slash pairings.

But I also read some holycrap!amazing gen fanfics lately with movieverse Tony Stark. Amaaazing. But this is really a break from my usual reading of late: Wolverine fanfic. I slash Logan with Remy (Gambit) and Scott (Cyclops). And Kurt (Nightcrawler). And Victor Creed (Sabertooth) if he's not his half-brother. Umm...not all at the same time.

Geez, I wish I could just live on your shoulder for a month and witness y'all's (yes, that's a possessive contraction--I lived in the south, deal with it, LOL) journey of discovery.

I so very FEEL my inner bisexuality (I'm not up yet on how to use queer vocabulary correctly, so please bear with my terminology as I try to express myself) and polyamory-belief, but I'm not in a situation where I can explore it.

So, please permit me to live vicariously through you fantastic people. :) *hugs you all and wishes I could have spent more time getting to know you personally since you're so fucking cool I can't see straight--see whut I did thar? Oh, pun, thy name is weaksauce. *facepalm*

I have a feeling I would adore just sitting up with you lot talking and philosophizing (and geeking out, natch) for hours on end until my brain was too full to function anymore and I had to seek sleep just to recharge for more.

Congratulations to you all for finding each other and being so happy. I'm thrilled for you! *moar hugs*

Yes, definitely vicarious living-through and *hugs hugs moar hugs.* Yeah, it was totally awesome hanging out at con when we did (oh, team 3rd floor; oh, hot topic), but yeah, I wish we'd gotten to know each other personally.

Crystal was sort of the catalyst for the getting to know people, which was cool, because I got to ride on the coattails of her awesome configuration of genetic trits, but kind of a bummer because I was a bit wrecked when she left, so didn't get very close to people I'd become acquainted with over the con. But yes, Infinitus--that's, like, next Tuesday, right?

And we should totally geek out sometime. I've been really happy that con people have been so chill and supportive of aspects of myself that have been illuminated by con, so it's fun to chat with, you know, fellow wizards, etc. (The muggles don't always understand.)

Anyway, I'm going night now--but thanks again for the support and *hugs.* All is reciprocated.
