BJDs, ETC.--GenCon 2007

Aug 21, 2007 03:11

Back from GenCon (game & other media con) in Indianapolis. I've been going there for a gazillion years (well, at least a dozen consecutive years) to pick up free-lance jobs and hawk my wares to make some money. But last year and this year I've also been working some BJDs into the whole crazy, chaotic business, as well. There wasn't an official ( Read more... )

Heheh... I think Heather and Diana sent her over to me when they saw him. They're into BJDs, too, although only Heather has one (so far!). ^__^

They did indeed! ^__^ I'm so glad they did too, it was fun seeing you and your adorable Bambicronys! Thank you so much for letting me play with them and talk to you for a bit.

(P.S. Mind if I friend your journal? )

you were delayed? yick.
I need two - one drow and one normal elf. Sigh.
Always need to have you at GenCon. Talking to Heather on the way home, we said how some people are true friends, even if you only see them a couple of times a year. Like Ruth. Like you.

Diana's had a ComicCon table for the past two years--and she'll be there next year! I'm going to try and make it to ComicCon next year, too--and Heather, too! It's been a while since Heather was there...

Your booth kicks ass - and hah, I get to see what Stephanie looks like ! ;) I always oogle her work too. Yee...
It looks like you had a fun time, and definitely in good company! XD As for your tinies... you know I'm in love with your little drow, so they really steal the show. ;) My hubby is still sad we couldn't catch Gen con, so I think he's intending us to go next year. ^_^

It's a good con. Big enough to have lots of cool stuff in it (celebs, panels, video games, artwork, costumes, jewelry--people with BJDs in their arms!)--and is good for people who like games and want to do demos or tournaments.

I felt so bad I didn't get around to take more photos! It's silly, since I had my camera with me... but I only had brief moments when I could get away from my table... and I kept forgetting to take my camera! geesh.

There were some cool booths--not as crazy-big as ComicCon, but still quite nice...

It's tough trying to bring dolls to a con! There's the packing and hauling--and fear of getting them lost or damaged... and then having a good place to keep them while at hotel rooms or roaming about the convention. For me, I was pretty much stuck in one place all the time and could keep them fairly safe behind my table... but if I were running about the con, I don't know if I'd be able to do it!

But I definitely saw more dolls this year than last year--so it's a growing thing there. Kinda fun mixing the game/con world with BJDs! ^__^

I'm taking my boy to the Fan Expo this weekend. And since I'm coming home each night I can change his outfit:) This will be the first time he's gone to a con. I saw a number of BJD last year so I'm hoping I can drag them out this time by showing off Torquil.
