[Having already explored the main city and secured a few essentials (which included an umbrella and a new outfit), Calliste had decided to make her way deeper into Veja's forests to explore a little.

She hadn't, however, expected to meet a freezing boy holed up in a cave just a mile outside of town.]

[She notices him sneaking glances straight away, but lets him-- after all, she had stared right at him in the cave. The walk towards town is silent except for the rain coming down on the umbrella, so when he finally asks her something, it takes a moment for her to process his question.]

Even though this whole area is like a forest, it's bigger than you might expect. It's big enough to be a city, really, if it weren't so scattered around. Almost everything is decorated in a sort of oriental style.

[ Scattered around... Well then. That made him feel a little better at least. Maybe that was why he had had such a hard time finding it. ]

It doesn't sound like a bad place. I guess.

I don't think it is. You can look at it for yourself right now.

[And she points off into the distance. Amidst the rain, there are soft glows from lantern lights dotting the tall pagoda-like buildings ahead of them. It's warm and inviting and...not wet under their overhangs.]

[ It wasn't what he was used to. Far from. It felt... so foreign, so out of this world. Nothing like Twilight Town with its endless sunsets and its sleepy crowd. But... it was much better than a cave. ]

Well, I've... never seen anything like it before. That's for sure. [ This is Tobias trying to be positive. ]

It might take some getting used to, even for me. And I actually like the rain.

It's... not so bad, I guess. [ So long as it let up at some point. Hopefully. ] I like it better when the sun's out though.

[She leads him towards one of the hotels, and closes the umbrella once they're under the overhang.]

Once you get enough drops, you could probably visit Lakai. A friend told me that it's a beautiful, sunny beach area.

Lakai... [ Making a mental footnote there. A beach sounded better than here. Although the idea of going there without Hayner, Pence, and Olette was a little depressing. -....huh? ]

Wait, get enough... what?

[ He blinked at her. ]

Drops. Or emotional drops, I guess. They're on the vial that's hanging from your communicator. I'm guessing you didn't get a chance to read the guide?

[simulatedsummer]

[ Emotional drops... His eyes wince in recognition and then he was searching his person until... huh. There, a phone. He plucked it out of his pocket and... there was that vial she mentioned. He studied it a minute... Something was definitely inside. Though emotion or not? Like he knew. His expression fell perplexed once more. ]

...Wait, you said something about a guide?

Mmhm. It's on the laptop. It explains everything about this place.

[She enters the hotel, gesturing for him to follow her.]

Laptop... No, I didn't.

[ Not!sis, don't you know laptops are evil and obviously sucked them into this world? :|

But he followed, regardless. More than a little grateful to be inside a nice, warm building after all the rain and cold. The place itself felt strange, but he took things in stride- and it was hard not to with how welcoming it felt being there instead of in the rain. ]

...I guess I should look at it some time.

It would probably be a good idea. Let's get you warmed up and fed first, though.

[She steps up to the clerk behind the front desk, ready to order something for him.]

What would you like to eat?

[ The change of pace was surprising. Though he should have guessed they were serving something from the smell of things. Regardless, he walked up with her and then... paused sheepishly. Looking up at her with a slight tilt of his head and then up at the clerk. ]

I guess.... whatever's good? [ Some of the things sounded like they could be familiar... so he picked one of those hastily. Watching the clerk move to work. Giving Tobias time to think. ...And that awkward look returned. ]

Uh... Calliste. Come to think of it... Do you think they'll take munny? [ ...And that was given that she even knew what it was, now that he thought of it. ]
