Speech Pathology Graduate School

I'm 21 and I love on Long Island.  I am currently attending SUNY New Paltz and majoring in Communication Disorders (Speech Pathology) and minoring in Linguistics and Psychology.  I'm also crazy confused about grad school and applying and which ones are even worth the money to apply to and which one are good.  So I thought that maybe I could get ( Read more... )

I went to UMASS Amherst and really liked it. If you have any questions about the school or general area, I'd be happy to answer them. I think you should be able to get in with a 3.8 in the major.

I think the following guide might give you an idea of what grades you need to get in the various schools, but you also should be able to find that information from each of the schools themselves.

Hopefully you will get some sort of assistantship which provides and tuition and fee waivers.

I think the OP is applying to a Master's program for speech pathology, which is typically not funded, unfortunately/

I'm currently a student at Umass Amherst, though not in the speech pathology program, so if you have any questions about campus life/culture/the area etc I'd be happy to answer them.

I'm an audiologist and a PhD candidate (in Speech, Language and Hearing Sciences) at the University of Colorado. I'm not totally familiar with the east coast SLP programs, but what I can recommend is that you speak to your faculty advisor. They'll know a lot more about the programs around you ( ... )
