Speech Pathology Graduate School

Aug 11, 2009 21:23

I'm 21 and I love on Long Island.  I am currently attending SUNY New Paltz and majoring in Communication Disorders (Speech Pathology) and minoring in Linguistics and Psychology.  I'm also crazy confused about grad school and applying and which ones are even worth the money to apply to and which one are good.  So I thought that maybe I could get some advice on here.

I'm looking for schools somewhat in the New York area and have my list some what narrowed down ( Brooklyn, Hunter, Lehman, Hofstra, Mercy, Southern ,Conneticut, Towson, U Conn, U Mass Amherst, and Worcester).  I chose some not in New York just in case but don't know much about them.

I'm looking for a school that has the Teaching Certificate included in the program ( which i'm pretty sure all of those do).
Something that is not crazy expensive of course.
And well I really want to work in a hospital so something that might focus on the older clients.

I have a 3.55 overall and like 3.8 in the major.  I haven't taken the gres yet.  I want to know if anyone has any clue about which schools i have a chance at with my grades.  In the major I have A's and A-'s and just one B+.

I'm just kind of freaking out and hoping to get some advice.... this post prob sounds crazy.

well hope to hear from someone soon
