Interview Anxiety

After looking through memories/tags of "interview" and "interviews" I have a good list of questions to prepare for for an interview I have at the end of the month (in addition to a few questions the director of the program told me to think about).  The problem is that I tend to say WAY too much or speak informally and say how I really feel in ( Read more... )

Is this a research-based PhD program?

You could say that you know that this is exactly what you want to do, so why delay?

No, it's an MA in Arts Administration, so it's not uncommon for people to work before coming back to get the degree. At this specific school, I know that 1 (maybe 2?) of the students are straight out of undergrad.

I really like the program and feel like I connect with the director (had the intro-level class last semester). Since I have been planning on going to grad school, in light of the current economy, I don't think it would be wise for me to try and get a job right now as opposed to finishing school and being a more appealing candidate in two years.

I think you just answered your own question...the above answer is great. specific but concise. I find that if I intentionally slow my self down I am a lot better in an interview situation. It gives me time to think and lessens the um and likes...
