Thank you, kind professor for agreeing to write me a recommendation. Thank you for failing to open ANY of my emails reminding of you an upcoming deadline, and thank you again for letting said deadline pass for the uni I REALLY wanted to go to. And by the way, the uni that specifically states IF ALL YOUR SHIT ISN'T IN ON TIME = AUTOMATIC REJECTION. ( Read more... )

Totally feel for ya. I had a prof submit my letter 3 days late for my top choice school. I don't think it hurt me, but we'll see.

It's just uber annoying because he was basically all like 'oooh, don't worry about me, I'll DEFINETLY have everything in on time, nyuck nyuck' and then he drops off the face of the earth. And this school has like an 8% acceptance rate so I think they'll be dying for a reason to throw out applications.

Wow, that was a bit gutsy but really quite a marvelous way to react to the situation. Bravo!

I'm so sorry. I wish there was something I could do.

I'm sorry. My recommenders were great, but I had to spend a good while on the phone with my school's registrar's office yesterday politely but firmly reminding them that I had deadlines looming (the first a week from today).

Sorry your program sounds so strict--are you sure you can't at least e-mail and explain your situation? It's worth a shot, at least.

Oh, it was serious irony that even my transcripts got in before my recommendations. My registrar office is NOTORIOUS for ignoring requests if you're not there on their asses everyday to ask about it...yet mine were in lickety split.

God...even ETS got the GREs in before this guy. And he sent it today...four days late and sent an email that literally said 'sorry' and nothing else. ARRRGH!!
