Possibly stupid question. So I wanted to talk to an ETS customer service rep before requesting score reports. I wanted to make sure that, for $15 per graduate school, ALL my scores (subject and general with writing) got sent, and she said they did. I hope this is correct. Then I wanted to request additional scores from her instead of typing it ( Read more... )

Stupid lady who doesn't speak English.

Do you think a service rep would do it for me if I told them the codes and whatnot?

No. They'll just refer you to the automated system. Think of it this way: if you do it using the automated system, there's a much higher chance of your request getting processed. The phone rep could always forget to hand over the request, or s/he could send it to the wrong people, or the processing people could say "it's not from the automated system, so it's not a real request" and just toss it. Cell phones work; that's how I requested all of mine, and they got sent just fine.

Okay. I'm gonna find a landline still, or call when I'm in town, because my reception sucks. Thanks!

I'm pretty sure cell phones work just like touch tone phones. The person probably didn't know what she was doing and was reading a script.

Did they charge you for speaking to a customer service rep before ordering reports?

Nope. I didn't order the reports. I'm going to do the automated thing tomorrow on someone else's landline. I think it charges me $6 for one call.

ETS doesn't charge you to talk to a service rep. I did so to update my address and get an ETA on score report arrival. I'm glad I didn't have to pay them any more than I already am!

Cell phones definitely work. I requested mine via mobile.

It's fine with cellphones... and I actually thought the automatic system was really easy and terrific (compared to other customer service I've had to use... *cough* banks *cough*). Everything gets processed. Just make sure you have the necessary info in your hand.
