Post Great War fiction has a ton of colonial ties.

Post WWII. The texts metioned in the course outline are Michael Ondaatje's The English Patient, Zadie Smith's White Teeth, and Ian McEwan's Atonement.

Take which one interests you most. You have enough background and you can talk about the rest of your background and interests in the statement of purpose. Try not to overthink this.

The English Patient is a good enough reason to take the class, in my opinion! It's a brilliant book, and has lots of themes of colonialism/nationalism/cultural identity! I love it.
