Since the general consensus is that research looks the best on your application, does anyone know of ways to get research experience when you've already graduated from college?

In my field, I've done searches for research internships. Many of them are asking for people who already have an undergraduate degree and are planning on going to grad school in the future. You may also be able to get in touch with the career center at your former school and see what they can help you with.
