.xxx rejected again. On the whole, I think it would be a good idea to segregate the whole lot under its own domain.

Ha, you're kidding, right? That was NEVER going to be the result if .xxx had been allowed, there is precisely zero chance all the existing porn sites would give up their .com, .co.uk, .biz, .whatever sites and restrict themselves to .xxx .

No, but setting up a unique domain is a useful start point for subsequent legislation, should nations choose to enact it. Better to start with the voluntary melange before ironing out strict divisions.

Mass: i was planning to be on mine tonight, but ended up working until late. I did ride past it on the way home - it was going west along the Euston Road as i was going east. It wasn't too big tonight, but then the weather has been dire.

Patriot: i seem to remember reading that during the Gulf War or something, Patriot notched up exactly zero confirmed kills in god knows how many firings. And this was after the clock drift problem was fixed.

Christ. Apparently, there was Patriot-related friendly fire incident in the recent Iraq war: an F-16 mistook a patriot battery for an SA-2 battery, fired a HARM at it and blew up its radar; the radar was replaced but not properly set up or something, following which the battery mistook an F/A-18 for a Scud, and shot it down. Your guys really need to get a handle on this.

Anyway, the Japanese should probably just invest in some Russian S-300s - the Rolls-Royce of heavy SAMs. Hey, if it's good enough for Iran ...

Yup, the Patriot really isn't all that it has been advertised to be.

On the other hand, I'm sure the Japanese are all too happy to get the hardware, scrap out all the rubbish software, and put in their own. Rather like they did with the F-16, which they supersized, btw.
