So after cramming a lot this weekend, I took my Cisco Voice test this morning. I passed. Test 1/5 done for the Cisco Certified Voice Professional. And somewhere in there I need to squeeze in a CCNA test. Perhaps even a CCNA Voice test. Next week I'm scheduled to take the Troubleshooting Unity test. Yay more studying ( Read more... )

Aw, you'll never sound retarded to me.

Cisco is just one company that makes network gear, and considered the forefront of the technology which is why geek people seek their blessing in the form of taking their test to be qualified as a Cisco professional. They offer various flavours of certs from basic networking guy, to full on project designers. One of their specialized fields is CCVP, which handles VOIP that takes 5 individual smaller certs. If it were something like the copier world, it's like saying Xerox certified when you know several other companies make copiers.
