Rest day: I walked a mile in a tunnel full of exhaust and ran down a hill

(and then I went dancing).

Despite my best efforts to be on time I arrived at Rotherhithe half an hour early, and sat in the sun reading Downriver with some gross protein milkshake and meditating on the difference not only in racial demographics from area to area in London (Rotherhithe, from what little I saw, seemed to be predominantly white and ( Read more... )

Wow, that tunnel sounds surreal!

I now want to look up Tumblr's Thoughts On Species. I may regret it, but I want to.

You don't sound well. Rest would be good.

It's a terrifying experience. I may set up a tent under the escape stairs and live there.

Uh basically: species is defined by humans and is a blurrier concept than we give it credit for, and taxonomy is a human invention also, and stuff's Not Concrete (but with a background radiation of "science is colonialist!")

I'm still not fucking well (possibly because I have not been resting, but I don't lack ENERGY. I'm just CONTAGIOUS).

...you would actually be really good as Mysterious Tunnel Man.

So a lot of really sensible ideas blurred together with someone Tumblring way too hard?

...can you expose yourself to a lot of steam?

If I can somehow lose this hellish chest woe I will purchase my tent and some camo net and Get To Work on moving in.

I think so.

... I could but I don't think the steam would like it.

you recorded yourself coughing and then shared it on tumblr. o.O you are so weird. you also sound terrible. your day sounds completely fabulous (i totally would've walked that tunnel with you and charlie if i lived in london) and i'm right there with charlie in the "losing one's shit upon being invited to hold a yorkie" camp (did they take the girls up on the offer?), but it's entirely possible you would've been better served by not going anywhere and resting up instead. even tho it really does sound like a really good day. i mean, tunnel, tea, dogs, more tea, a hill, cherry blossoms (my car is still hemmed in by snow and you have PRETTY FLOWERING TREES), and, uh, dance class.

yay novel!
