The art exhibit sounds like a fun day! I miss those. When I go back to the US, maybe the Smithsonian will just let me move in? They have couches that could probably double as beds, and I promise not to use any wet media indoors.
So if you wake up one day and your life is awesome, all of your books are going to get the "Everyone is more alive than you would have guessed, and also things have worked out awesome for them" epilogues?
Ooh! What if I'm in a room full of objects, slowly covering them with drawings of different objects in the room, while Polly runs around providing creative destruction?
lbr if i wake up one day and my life is awesome i will never write another danged word that isn't "byeeee"; otoh i might be able to pay someone to write a good epilogue for them all so. yeah, they'll get them.
i'm stuck on the fact that some alternate versions of ben and daniel were having tea in the national gallery cafe. (was ben actually eating? was daniel being insufferable? were they both totally cute?)
a wall-size st sebastian sounds like just the right size of pincushion saint. :D
Ben was not in fact eating (so somewhat ic there) but he was definitely being the bossier and more outward of the two, although they were both very quiet and sweet; not-Ben put on his scarf and then gently touched the back of not-Daniel's neck to remind him to stop messing with his phone and get up and then they went off holding hands. SPYING ON PEOPLE IS GOOD FOR MY SOUL and yes they were FUCKIN' ADORABLE, CINDY, IT WAS SO SWEET.
yeah I mean I could just ... remove one of my walls and replace it with this:
THEY WENT OFF HOLDING HANDS. spying is good for my soul too! even if it's only sympathetic since you did the actual spying. :D
i'm not used to seeing st sebastian on his back! usually he's upright, either kind of standing or tied to something. that would definitely improve the resale value of your place, yes.
Yeah there's actually a whole secondary category of St Sebastian iconography (I was tagging it "after execution" on fuckyeahstsebastian until tagging anything but the artist name started to become an incredible chore) which deals with the period between his two executions - "st sebastian tended by irene" is the usual title, or saint irene as she is properly known - so you can find a few; Georges de La Tour is one that springs to mind. But the Nicolas Regnier (there are actually two that he did like this, I think) is pretty much the ne plus ultra of tended-by-irene subset st sebastians as far as I'm concerned. Epically beautiful.
