This week has been very LONG. By the end of each day I am entirely too tired to do anything except go home and become one with the sofa, although Dr F's insistence that I write Modern AU Billy Prior is bearing fruit. Sad, dusty, shitty fruit, but fruit nonetheless. And I am definitely getting fitter ( Read more... )

Sounds like a rough patch. You're accomplishing a lot, but you don't get the satisfaction. You're writing (and getting published by other people!), getting in shape, getting your house together, and getting medical stuff resolved. If it was someone else, you'd be all encouraging and point out that was quite good for a low patch. (Although "Treat yourself with the same fairness and sympathy you'd treat someone else with" is hilariously difficult.)

Probably just the start of winter, but I do feel like I basically do nothing of worth. Hrmph.

Yeah, I think it's winter. From an outside perspective, you're making good progress on a lot of things, but if you're having SAD symptoms, it makes sense you can't feel it, and if you can't feel the satisfaction, it's natural to believe you somehow haven't done anything of worth.

Next winter, I'll probably have a guest room quite close to the equator if you need some time in the sun?

Also, I saw that interactive map, and it reminded me of how, in my hometown, there's a walk that's designed to reflect accurate astronomical distances (with a great big sun as the starting point, and a tiny little Pluto way out there), and it's really cool.

That is *immensely* cool. I love things like that. There's stencils of psych questions on the pavement on my way to work, and when I was in Seattle there were dance step instructions on the sidewalk (I tried to dance them but no good... I have two left feet and they belong to different people).

Yeah, it's like you're walking down the sidewalk, and then suddenly everything becomes more interesting!
