It has been a posty day. I am replete with a human skull poster, books on viruses and epidemiology, a groundsheet, some rope, some tape, and two penis badges. I hope GCHQ are thoroughly fucking confused by their monitoring ( Read more... )

Ooh, writing time!

The shirt sounds cool!

I've done the cutting-your-hair-really-short thing, and it worked out well for me. I haven't tried murder, but I suspect that would work out less well.

Obvious sounds like a frustrating word in that situation. It's one thing to have someone tell you that you have kind of a pattern (everyone does, and most people don't realize all of them), but calling it obvious? Not fun.

I went to a party last night! It was a work party, but there was pizza and free single malt scotch and a very nice lady from a local LGBT group gave me her rainbow flag pin and is going to start inviting me to events!

The main thing holding me back from hair-cutting is that my mother hacked off all hers at roughly this age and I'm being petty because I have to see her this month and I don't want her making that connection. MATURE.

Indeed, it makes me worried about what else is "obvious" and how can I hide EVERYTHING ABOUT ME EVER and make sure no one ever learns a single thing again without being directly told?

AWWWW YEAH OPPORTUNITIES FOR MAKING QUEERMO FRIENDS!

That makes sense. Maybe get your hair cut immediately after? Or whatever you like to do with it. It's your hair.

Yeah, it's very easy to get paranoid about that kind of thing.

I'm very excited!

Also, I just found out there is a very legit-looking weekly figure drawing thing at this art space. (I just learned of them, and they do art classes for kids and adults and one of those wine and painting things for people who want to learn, and nearly all of their activities are super-expensive, but the figure drawing is for charity - raising money to do art lessons for children in isolated mountain provinces - and it's "Donate what you feel appropriate" and I may check it out when the next one happens.

I came up with a cunning plan. I'm going to bleach all of my hair, because I want it that colour anyway, and thus when it starts breaking off I can convince myself I am cutting it all off because it has become frazzle, and then it stops being about her. TRICKING MYSELF FOR FUN AND PROFIT.

I think that sounds like an excellent plan, it combines "hooray, drawing is fun" with the "I need to be a good person" drive, and brings you double the satisfaction! DO THE THING.
