I snapped one of my embroidery needles and now I'm waiting for another one to arrive before I can continue with the awful misguided velvet jacket of doom. I should probably find material for and cut the sleeves and sew them so they're ready for when/if I ever finish the embroidery, but I don't feel very optimistic

Good luck with the embroidery. Do embroidery needles snap much? Beading needles break all of the time.

Now I want to figure out how to do a story about a nightmare seller, only I'd need to figure out a plot that isn't too cliche.

This one did because it's hellishly thin, and I'd managed to bend it a little on some unforgiving fabric, it was starting to rust from the sweat on my fingers (what even) and then I tried to straighten it and SNAP. :( Hopefully one or more of the ones I've ordered will do the job, as the ones I've been using are too blunt and wide for what I want to do. I did learn a bit about embroidery needles while I was shopping, though, so that's good. Apparently I want "straw" or "millinery" ones.

That's a tricky one... how is the extended holiday season treating you?

The thinness sounds like beading needles. And learning the correct needles makes everything better.

I can think of plots, but it's mostly obvious and cliche stuff.

The holidays have been great! I'm really enjoying all the time and relaxation!

Yes! Tightly, but in a way that makes me look like my boobs could attack someone. Also, the way it's put together it wouldn't be too hard to adjust the waist.
