19. What do you collect?Partners apparently. Dust. Dead animals. Books but not in a very "collector" sense. I think my collector mentality which I had quite strongly and autistically as a kid was mostly removed by going away to school, and then by having to carry all my own shit a few times when moving house, and I think also it was never very ( Read more... )

I don't really collect anything in the having-a-collection sense. I tend to accumulate stuff I intend to watch or use, or might want one day.

The cocktails look nice!

Making a shirt is a huge task!

Same, although I do have a small amount of stuff which has no practical purpose but is generally cool (like your cannibal fork, and a human jawbone, and a beetle). I'm assuming you don't accumulate too much because you move every so often?

They were pretty decent, although the main reason I go to the Green Carnation is for the décor (that and it's a gay bar full of sedate late-twenties/early thirties men and their female friends which means one is left gloriously alone no matter how pretty one's female companions are).

Did it in three hours (the cotton I have is quite thick but doesn't slide around so there was less hassle involved, and I've got the hang of the pattern) while watching programs about tsunamis and the indian ocean's future as a wildlife preserve, barring the buttons which I could have done but am not yet because I found a cloth-button base on Amazon which I'm going to use to make matching buttons for it. And then I will have a fully-finished shirt. It is a mostly-finished shirt at the moment. It looks pretty cunning.

Yeah, I move a lot, and do periodic clearing-out-of-old-stuff, so my piles tend not to get too large.

Ooh, nice! Sounds like a fun place.

That's really impressive! A shirt in three hours? And that bit with the buttons sounds really cool! I want to see pictures when you're done!

Well you don't want to move a whole bunch of stuff that will have no value in the new place, right?

It's amazing what you can do when you're avoiding research ;)

that cocktail with hendrick's, rose petals, and lychees sounds sweet as hell but also really yummy. and "make william morris shirt" DOES sound like a lot of work, but also, you'll have a william morris shirt! which is just really cool.

i guess i collect comic books, altho that really means i buy them to read and just keep them.

It actually wasn't all that sweet, and had this nice sharp/fresh aftertaste. The main problem was trying to keep bits of dried petal out of my mouth.

That's roughly the way I collect books.
