Originally down to eXistenZ but later down to Videodrome as well, I have a real love of weapons that look like they're made out of cannibalised body parts or grown in a vat and which connect with the person using them and leech from them. Feel like weapons should ideally take something out of the user.
It's really annoying because I know even when I see them that they're not there BUT the quick movement and sense of someone being in my flat things are part of the brain that runs on instinct and not logic so it's surprisingly difficult not to scream. >:(
Yeah, it's a very poetic idea, and one that feels quite natural. (Visually, I tend to like weapons that are very pretty and/or utterly nightmarish-looking.)
That makes sense. Even with the intellect being quite rational, fairly basic parts of your brain are trained to respond to things like motion and "danger-intruder" signals.
Same, and one of the nice things about a lot of weapons in history is that they've had ornamental equivalents. I keep getting lost trying to find the swords gallery in the V&A but I KNOW IT'S IN THERE, I'VE SEEN IT.
Mmm hmm, which makes that impossible to shut off. Fucking hallucinations.
Backs are lovely parts of human anatomy, although I have this horrible habit of watching wrestling matches at the moment (boyfriend is into WWE and so on) and getting indignant because people like Bigger Rob have so much back and NO TATTOOS. WASTE OF SKIN!
Well if it stopped bloody SNOWING it would be a start ugh.
Oh that is an excellent point, i'm not very much into wrestling, but it does seem like a waste of lovely skin that they have so few tats! Though it can be hard to balance good tats and too many, badly placed tats.
There were pics of England last night on the telly, it was completely impossible to process the images, so much snow, why the hell are they showing Siberia? Why are there cars in riverbeds? (it was a road full of snow it was scary)!)
I have a fondness even for awful tattoos, just because I like the decision to go and make something permanent, and of course the invasiveness of the procedure.
Thankfully London's missed out on THAT but it is pretty weird and COLD and I don't understand why it won't go away and let me have SPRING.

Sorry your brain's being nasty. The shadow people thing sounds scary as hell.
