At the landing, where the bannisters were chipped and dented because Mycroft and Sherlock’s disputes had not always remained in the realms of the dignified, vitriolic, and verbal, Sherlock - eighteen, gaunt, full of cocaine and sourness - stopped directly in front of Mycroft and said, “It’s in my room, under Shriver & Atkins.”

MY GOD YOU HAVE MAGICAL POWERS WITH WORDS.

I was glued. And then I read the last line and I nearly ruined myself on it.

KINDNESS HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH IT. YOU DESERVE IT.

Ruined how you ask? Well, I thought about what I could get up to with Sherlock and that ruler and then I accidentally'd myself.

By the way, it's very weird in a thought-stealing way that you posted up a gif set of Xena on tumblr because I've been having this weird fantasy where Sherlock and John and genderswapped (but everyone else stays the same) and Sherlock is still called Sherlock because she's done a Sigourney Weaver on it and then it just became Xena in my head (and I get to play John/Joanna/Gabrielle/whatever in this game)... and then things just got silly.

Mrrr, well I'm glad it helped to take your mind off the discomfort but I can't help thinking a more squishy sofa would have been even better. :S How's your hand, btw?
