Man, I am very slow to catch on sometimes. It took me forever to realise that, actually, I do not have to ration absolutely everything ever. I could just go and buy another cake. Or, to be more specific, when I was working at CAPITA I would eke out audiobooks and only listen to them for one hour a day. And now I am working at LSBU and wondering why ( Read more... )

My sister and I had a 'sweetie box' each, to save sweets in from holidays and birthdays, since mum wouldn't buy sweets for us normally (and this was before pocketmoney). Mine normally had a single sweet in the bottom. My sister's had three year old easter eggs in. It turns out they stay... edible, anyway. Neither of us have really changed; she hoards, I devour to the exclusion of all else.

I hoard. My mother generally just wouldn't buy me anything that wasn't strictly necessary unless it was birthday or Christmas (this included things like ice creams and whatnot until the situation improved in my early teens) but this just means I hideously abuse the fact that I can ask Linds for ANYTHING and he just GETS IT. Like if I say "I fancy gateaux", IT HAPPENS.

I lack self-control when it comes to stuff I already have; I can stop myself buying things, but I can't stop myself eating/watching/using up something if it's already in my possession. Boyfriend has unfortunately created an expectation of dessert when I go over to his, and has the capacity to produce it on demand, which is essentially the same as 'having bought it'.

What is a partner for, if not for the producing of desserts?

No the FILM makes me want to die, the book is just making me melancholy. And TBF the suicide attempt was like, 10 years ago. ALSO I GUESS BECAUSE YOU RECOMMEND REALLY GOOD BOOKS AND ONE OF THE FEATURES OF THEM IS THAT THEY RESONATE?

Well. Good. Melancholy is an improvement, anyway.

I'm not sure it is, it wound round to "being angry with women" surprisingly fast.

ha, I kept a small amount of scent unworn in the bottom of the bottle for a DECADE because I liked it so much and knew I wouldn't be able to get any more once it was gone. (I got better. Have totally used up about a dozen scents in the last few years and will soon be breaking into the bottle I bought new five years ago)

And that wasn't the first time, either. I've just remembered my Tiny Amount of scent when I was about 10 (it was only lily-of-the-valley, but my childhood was full of the Can't Affords too).

Oh god I'm fierce bad for doing that with perfumes especially, because all the scents I like are either BPAL ones which I have no idea how to get hold of, and stuff I bought from a market stall in the Hague. AM IDIOT.
