i love persepolis the graphic novel but never saw the movie and am thus REALLY PLEASED that the second sounds fairly faithful to the first. (i liked that marji could be kind of an ass, and that she did stupid things and fucked up at the same time she was kind of brave and really smart. she was a real person, not a lesson to learn or a bad example to not follow or a cliched representation of all iranian girls/women everywhere.)

Yes this EXACTLY - a human being with a personality and opinions and the ability to change her mind and to be both cruel and kind.

Ah, I went and looked it up after you said. It seems the place I'm going to is on London Road and ridiculously easy to get to, so there's that in its favour - also I'm pretty familiar with the area as cellardoor28 used to live there and I basically camped out in her living room.
