Pissing about with noise:
Dram Muchine (finished) by Algia Hyena from "In Collegia Est".

(downloaded more plug-ins for Audacity so that I can do more in the way of mastering on the laptop. as a result it took me five minutes of shouting and scrolling to find the compressor. I R dum.)

I still have two listings up on Etsy. One of them is a rather ( Read more... )

A++ post, which is making me extra excited for the boxing AU. I will get around to it soon! Because god knows I love tragic ex-boyfriends.

God, I have all the things in the world to do and I sit here self-indulgently VOMITING OUT WORDS about Arthur and Eames DON'T VALIDATE MY BULLSHIT, SCOTT.

(ah, it's one in the morning, I can legitimately slack off and masturbate in public now...)

Well I can't comment on that, because I haven't read yours. But it is nice to know it seems like a natural progression.

b) PLZ.

Arthur, in a weird way, reminds me of my dad. The thing about my dad and his approach to work, is my grandfather. My grandfather is opinionated and bad at the whole get-along-go-along thing, and never meshed well in the business world. Consequently, my dad grew up, not seriously poor, but on the slightly pinched end of working-class (he was surprised the first time he tried orange juice made from concentrate and it had been mixed full-strength, because his mom always used to use double the water), and with a lot of moving around and change. He grew up with a strong tendency to take professionalism seriously, and a fondness for quality luxuries (also an insistence on taking good care of luxury items and doing it right). Something about Arthur with his neat little suits and business-like efficiency reminds me of my dad.

I am, however, less interested in Arthur and Eames than Arthur and Cobb. Arthur (as I interpret him - in fact, let's just save ourselves some trouble and take that as read for everything I say about any of the ( ... )

Yes, you've explained that before, and I don't get that impression to the extent that it's almost painful to read about. Sorry.

doesn't seem to tolerate flakiness well - he's deeply annoyed by Eames and his sloppiness and intuitive leaps, and gets on well with Ariadne largely because she does the fairly sensible thing and worries about the penchant for disaster.

That I can definitely agree with.

Bastions of emotional maturity are so boring! There's also the fact that I'm deeply suspicious of anyone who comes across as one, because I think they're hiding something. (Taking movie-Arthur on face value, I suppose there's an argument to be made that he's better adjusted than anyone else in the damn film, but to me that just shouts COMPETENTLY! HIDDEN!! ISSUES!!! and then I go and write 20K explaining why.)

Oh absolutely, and I have great respect for you wanting to undertake an archeology project on Arthur's personality, especially with god only knows what lurking in there. (I am mildly huffy at being asked at all. Close third means it's the character's views, not mine).

Ha! Actually I have a whole archaeology metaphor in there. And it wasn't as bad as it could have been because I only got so far down before I realised that there was no way to continue without stomping all over the guardedness of his personality even in close-ish third.

(WAKE UP, BRAIN)

Which tells you a LOT about Arthur in as much as it conceals things about him. :) I mean, the fact of his guardedness and shit.
